  • Patent number: 11885442
Abstract: The present invention relates to mechanical joining of Nickel Titanium tubes, also known as Nitinol, to other tubular components. Such mechanical joining may be achieved by interpenetration of lobe features between the respective tubes by translating the tubes together on a longitudinal axis, a transverse axis, by a combination of translation and rotational motion or by a hinging motion. The Nitinol superelasticity is used to accommodate the lobe deformation required for assembly and to snap the lobe back into its original shape to complete the mechanical joint.

  • Patent number: 11883553
Abstract: Seal integrity indicators for sterilization containers are provided. For example, a seal indicator may indicate whether the container is sufficiently sealed to prevent an ingress of contaminants into the container. If the container is sufficiently sealed, the seal indicator is visible, but if not, the seal indicator is not visible. Thus, the seal indicator undergoes a change in state when the sterilization container transitions from unsealed to sealed, or vice versa, such that a user may ascertain whether the container is properly sealed to maintain the container's sterility. An exemplary seal indicator includes an invertible projection formed with the container gasket that is not visible from outside the container until inverted, due to force applied by the lid, to extend through an opening in the container body. Closure mechanisms for sterilization containers also are provided.

  • Patent number: 11884745
Abstract: The present invention is a method for removing lipopeptides from solutions and changing their structure from cyclic to linear. The lipopeptide capture and sequestration takes place from solutions containing water through sorption. In the case of cyclic lipopeptides, in which the peptide ring is closed by a lactone bond, sorption is additionally associated with hydrolysis reactions occurring on the surface of active carbon, leading to linearization as a result of breaking the lactone bond.

  • Patent number: 11877831
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to computing blood pressure from images of the outer eye of an individual. Images of the outer eye of an individual obtained via a high magnification camera can be analyzed using computer vision to identify features associated with blood vessels in the outer eye, such as blood vessel size or diameter, blood vessel wall thickness, distance between vessels or vessel segments, area between vessels or vessel segments, and/or blood velocity through the vessels. These blood vessel features derived from images may be used to compute a blood pressure measure(s) for an individual through use of an artificial intelligence algorithm which relates the blood vessel features to blood pressure values.

  • Patent number: 11845646
Abstract: The apparatuses and methods disclosed herein, along with contemplated variants thereof, provide several advantages over known systems for actuating the faucet of a beverage server. In conventional designs, a faucet of a beverage server is provided in the lower portion of a reservoir, such that a beverage from the reservoir is distributed to the spigot through a gravity-driven process. In operation, many of these servers are utilized as service industry coffee servers for restaurants and banquet halls. Employees who are handling the brewing equipment will often place servers used with the brewing equipment directly in a sink for cleaning or filling, such that the base of that sink acts as a horizontal surface. Absent the ability of the lever assembly to fold into an up position, this operation would result in putting unnecessary force on the lever assembly. Accordingly, a multi-position, hands-free actuation system is disclosed herein.
