Patent number: 4672250Abstract: A disk drive motor has a mounting plate with a circuit board on one face and a cylindrical hub extending therethrough. A stator is secured to the plate and exterior of the hub. A cup-shaped rotor overlies the stator and has a rotor shaft journaled in the hub by spaced sealed precision bearings. The bearing opening includes an integral ledge which forms bearing chambers having smooth, uninterrupted walls within which a bearing is secured. Each bearing has an outer race secured within the chamber and an aligned inner race secured to the shaft, with end sealing members to seal the bearings. Spring means are located between each ledge are the inner races of the corresponding bearings to load the bearings. In assembly, the one bearing is assemblied on the shaft and inserted into the hub with the outer race adhesively bonded in place. The opposite bearing is close fitted into the opposite bearing and the shaft is pressed into the bearing during the assembly.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1984Date of Patent: June 9, 1987Assignee: A. Patent number: 4671727Abstract: An improved cutter chain construction for a bottom unloader of a storage structure. A cutter arm is mounted for rotation about the center of the storage structure, and an endless chain travels in an endless path on the cutter arm and carries a plurality of cutting members or hooks that are mounted at spaced intervals along the length of the chain. Each cutting member has a relatively thin body with a sharp leading edge and an outer enlarged head. The cutting members are mounted in a sequence along the length of the chain. A first cutting member in the sequence extends laterally outward from the chain and is disposed in a first plane, while the next succeeding cutting member lies in a second plane disposed at an acute angle to the first plane, whereby movement of the cutting members through the stored material will cut a wedge shaped mass.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1986Date of Patent: June 9, 1987Assignee: A. Patent number: 4669182Abstract: A bimetal snap disc thermostat is disclosed which is structured for automated assembly. Such thermostat includes a body with contact supports molded therein in a manner providing sufficient strength so that terminals can be riveted onto the contact supports after assembly. The body and contact support subassembly is structured so that it is symmetrical on opposite sides of a central axis. A disc cup is provided with axial and radial surfaces which accurately locate the disc during and after assembly. Also disclosed is a method of gaging and calibrating the thermostat automatically. Calibration of the spring force of the movable contact is accomplished by sensing the force in a given position and subsequently deforming the spring until a predetermined force exists in such predetermined position. Gaging is accomplished by deforming a projection from the movable contact arm until a predetermined uniform spacing is established between such projection and a gaging surface.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1985Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Assignee: Therm-O-Disc, IncorporatedInventors: C. Patent number: 4667965Abstract: An elongate game board for use by at least two players, with the board having a number of holes disposed in an equally spaced manner in each of a series of essentially parallel columns, which columns extend for a substantial portion of the length of the board. The holes typically are of a depth sufficient to receive therein a peg representing each player. Elastic band suspension devices are located adjacent one end of the game board, around which an elastic band is mounted, with the elastic band having sufficient elasticity as to permit it to be stretched around two or more pegs placed in holes of respective columns. The elastic band continues to be stretched to a greater and greater extent as the players' pegs are moved further down their respective columns in a first direction, with the loser in each phase of the game being that person causing the elastic band to break while he or she is endeavoring to move his or her peg to a hole further away from the elastic band suspension means.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1985Date of Patent: May 26, 1987Assignee: O-Board, Inc.Inventor: Robert L.
