    Abstract: For application in controlling fuel flow to a gas turbine engine, the control valve includes one or more fuel inlet manifolds, a fuel outlet manifold and a fuel drain manifold in fuel flow relation with a longitudinal bore in a valve sleeve. A hollow spool valve is slidably disposed in the sleeve bore and includes a metering valve thereon movable past a fuel inlet aperture to meter fuel flow from the fuel inlet manifold to the fuel outlet manifold. The spool valve also includes a shut-off valve thereon for terminating fuel flow to the fuel outlet manifold under certain conditions. The hollow spool valve includes a longitudinal bore in fuel flow relation with the fuel outlet manifold and fuel drain manifold and a drain valve in the spool bore openable when fuel flow to the fuel outlet manifold is interrupted by the shut-off valve so that fuel can drain from the fuel outlet manifold to the drain manifold and closeable during metered fuel flow to the fluid outlet manifold.

    Abstract: A release mechanism for a vehicle escape sash employs a latch mechanism of novel construction, with parts configured as keeper, hinged latch member, and sash bar. The keeper has a keeper flange that projects upward from a web of the keeper, and has a generally cylindrical undercut recess at its juncture with the web. The recess defines a latch seat. The latch member has a sash plate mounted to the window sash rail and a latch plate hingedly connected to the sash plate. A depending flange on the latch plate has a cylindrical head at its free end that fits into the keeper recess and makes continuous rolling contact therewith when the keeper and latch member are latched together. The sash bar is mounted onto the latch plate and extends inwardly over the latch member, the keeper, and the sash subframe. The sash bar both serves as a cover and as a release handle.

    Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing multiple color thin-walled hollow shells for parts such as automobile door panels, consoles and instrument panels from dry thermoplastic plastisol includes a supply box with a divider to form two or more compartments in the box. The box divider cooperates with selectively positioned split mold parts defining a separation in an open-ended heated mold for separating the mold into two or more sections. Complementary open ends of the charge box and mold are joined. Then the apparatus is rotated so that the powder is distributed into each mold section by gravity flow with the powder from each section flowing to the divider which separates the colors so as to form two or more tones on a resultant shell of cured material; thereafter the powder box is removed and the split mold parts are joined to clamp cast shell segments for fusion at a joint line.

Pressures in the two bladders may be changed individually or concurrently.

    Abstract: A self-aligning bearing assembly particularly suited for use in a fractional horsepower electric motor includes a bearing having a partially spherical outer surface and a central hole for rotatably journaling a shaft therein. A housing defining a generally cylindrical opening having an internal surface which is radially spaced from the bearing, also defines a bearing seat adjacent to and conforming in shape with a portion of the outer surface of the bearing. The housing further includes a lip extending radially inward from the internal surface of the cylindrical opening. A spring bearing retainer of resilient flexible sheet-like material and having a generally planar body is inserted into the cylindrical opening. The retainer includes a plurality of radially deformable projections which extend outwardly from the body and has a central aperture for engagement with a second portion of the outer surface of the bearing.

The electronic switching elements and/or circuits are printed onto the substrate in the form of liquid or pasty mixtures of materials, then heat-treated, whereupon at least one insulating layer is deposited on the thick-film conducting layer. In this process, the surface of any desired insulating interlayer is finished abrasively and subsequently again at least one thick-film conducting layer or at least one insulating layer is deposited on the finished surface. Then, the surface or this insulating layer is again finished abrasively in subsequent printing operations of thick-film conducting layers or in other insulating layers in order to provide upon completion each layer at least the same processing ingredients and conditions as those on the surface of the substrate.

A rod projects from the outer portion of the blocking member for positioning along the sliding door channel above the sliding door when the device is installed, for thereby preventing the sliding door from being lifted out of its channel for removal. The outer portion of the blocking member is provided with an upward-opening channel, and the rod is L-shaped.

Each subsequent workpart is rough ground at a constant infeed rate established from the wheel drive motor power consumption of the immediately preceding workpart until the grinding wheel is in need of re-trueing or re-dressing. The first workpart ground after wheel re-trueing or re-dressing is ground at a rough (high) infeed rate which is continuously varied by the machine control computer so as to maintain the electrical power consumed by the grinding wheel drive motor substantially constant at a preset level and from which the constant infeed rate for the second workpart is determined.

    Abstract: A surge voltage protection arrangement for a load 10 connected to an A.C. supply 8 comprising a gas-filled excess voltage arrester 11 connected in series with a capacitor 12 across the load 10. The value of the capacitor 12 is chosen such that the largest expected surge pulse which causes the arrester 11 to fire will not charge the capacitor to such an extent that the voltage then applied across the load 10 exceeds that of the A.C. supply 8. The arrangement enables the arrester 11 to recover after such a surge pulse within a fraction of an A.C. supply cycle, thus avoiding placing an unnecessary load on the arrester. A resistor 13 whose resistance is of a value such that the capacitor 12 is able to discharge through it within one half cycle of the A.C. supply may be connected across the capacitor 12.

    Abstract: A pre-assembled turntable mounting unit for a storage structure. The storage structure is mounted on a foundation having a radial trough extending from the center of the structure to the exterior. A pre-assembled turntable mounting unit is disposed in the inner end of the trough at the center of the storage structure. The turntable mounting unit includes a fixed mounting ring which rests on the upper surface of the foundation bordering the trough and a plurality of angle-shaped roller support brackets are supported on the ring. A turntable, which supports the inner end of a rotatable sweep arm, is mounted for rotation on rollers carried by the roller brackets. By removing the anchor bolts the entire turntable mounting unit can be readily removed from the storage structure. The drive transmission that acts to rotate the sweep arm about its axis is mounted in a pre-established position on a platform suspended in the trough from the turntable mounting ring.

    Abstract: A circuit board testing apparatus is disclosed which effectively provides two vacuum chambers. A plurality of test probes casings are mounted in a bottom wall, which casings extend upwardly through an intermediate plate, the casings being slidably sealed to the plate. A top wall which has a plurality of apertures therethrough is provided in normal spaced relationship to the intermediate plate, and gasketing means are provided to achieve a vacuum chamber between the top plate and the intermediate plate and between the intermediate plate and the bottom wall by arranging a flexible diaphragm. Vacuum is supplied to the two chambers in a selected sequence for moving the top wall toward the intermediate plate, second vacuum means provided for moving the top wall and intermediate plate toward the bottom wall. By providing probe tips of different lengths in the receptacles, a variety of combinations of circuit testing can be performed, including a functional test in one operation.
