Patent number: 4280039Abstract: A machine or apparatus simultaneously manufacutures a core-reinforced welded panel and assembles core strips in operative relationship with the face sheets of said panel. The machine includes a first welding head which is insertable in the space between the face sheets and has welding electrode means thereupon which internally weld securement portions of the core strips to adjacent inner surfaces of face sheets of any desired thickness. The welding head includes movable jaws mounting the welding electrodes to move the welding electrodes into engagement with the securement portions of the core strips and the welding electrodes are resilient to permit them to move independently of the movable jaws and each electrode provides an electrically isolated weld. A second welding head is provided which is capable of securing web portions of the core strips by weldments to one another after the weldment of the core strips at their securement portions has been accomplished by the first welding head.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1979Date of Patent: July 21, 1981Assignees: Thomas P. Patent number: 4279675Abstract: A method and apparatus for closing and sealing the end of a container having a tubular body wherein the container and closure portion includes front, rear and side panels each extending axially from the tubular body in the open position of the end closure. Each of the end closure panels may have a sealing strip defined at its outer end by a scored line with the rear panel including a closure flap-extending from the outer edge of its sealing strip. The end closure panels are folded to a flat closed position by closing jaws with the sealing strips and closure flap projecting axially from the tubular body, after which the sealing strips are sonically welded together. Patent number: 4273418Abstract: Apparatus for creating optical illusions utilizing a rotating circular disc having alternating transparent and reflective areas according to a predetermined pattern. The reflective area is approximately equal to the transparent area. As the disc rotates at a user's selected speed the user perceives alternating reflected and transmitted images. Thus where the apparatus is positioned between an object and the user the transmitted image of the object is superimposed upon the reflected image of the user and consequently the two images merge to form the desired optical illusion.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1979Date of Patent: June 16, 1981Assignee: WHAM-O Mfg.
