  • Patent number: 5940584
Abstract: Filing the documents prepared by a computer (HOST) without a detour via a computer printout, by virtue of the fact that, as in the case of driving a printer, the printing data (SPDS) which can be retrieved via a printer connection interface (CH) of the computer (HOST) is converted into a pixel data stream (PIX-DAT). In parallel therewith text information and bar codes are filtered out of the printing data stream and neutralized and converted into an index data stream (IND-DAT). The two data streams are then logically synchronized and fed to the filing data carrier (ARCHIV). Designing the apparatus as a self-contained apparatus (APALINK) or as a combined apparatus having a printer (PRINTER) and an ancillary device (PC), it also is possible for the ancillary device to be an integral component of the printer. Furthermore, it is possible for the filing to be performed in parallel with printing out or without simultaneous printing out.

  • Patent number: 5937259
Abstract: An electrographic printer has an intermediate medium for simultaneously printing a first web section of an endless medium and a second web section arranged next to and at a distance from the first web section. Both web sections are drawn along a path past the intermediate medium by a transport system. During the printing process, a tensioning device biases the first and second web sections against the intermediate medium. A web-tensioning unit located downstream relative to the direction of transport of the transport device, applies a traction force to the web sections in the direction of travel. In addition, a first compensation device and a second compensation device separated from the first compensation device are provided between the transport device and tensioning device. The compensation devices bias the first or second web sections as appropriate, against the direction of transport during the printing process.

  • Patent number: 5915154
Abstract: The apparatus for conveying finely powdered material from a reservoir includes a suction/pressure unit that projects into the reservoir. A gas is introduced into the suction/pressure unit and is mixed with the finely powdered material that is sucked into suction/pressure unit from the reservoir to form a powder/gas mixture and this mixture is discharged. Compressed air blows into the reservoir in a finely dispersed manner to fluidized the finely powdered material so that the extraction of the finely powdered material from the reservoir is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 5758227
Abstract: In a thermal fixing system for fixing toner images on the front side of a recording medium in an electrographic printer or copier device, wherein the back side of the recording medium can already have a fixed toner image. The thermal fixing means contains a heat transfer fixing station that fixes the toner images on the recording medium, and contains a pre-heating saddle that precedes the heat transfer fixing station in a running direction of the recording medium. A sliding surface that accepts the recording medium over its back side is allocated to the pre-heating saddle. The sliding surface is constructed of a toner-repellant material at least in a contact region with the recording medium. The preheating saddle is designed as a low temperature saddle with the largest possible constructional length, so that a temperature difference between recording substrate and saddle surface is as small as possible. The preheating saddle has, in the recording substrate running direction, a plurality of heating zones.
