Abstract: A method for remote medical imaging involves displaying augmented reality (AR) images on a remote patient's smart phone or smart eyewear. The augmented reality images guide the patient concerning how to move their mobile and/or wearable device relative to a wound, injury, lesion, or abnormality on their body in order to capture images of the wound, injury, lesion, and/or abnormality from different distances and angles. These images are then integrated into a 3D digital image for medical diagnosis or treatment.
Abstract: Wearable devices that provide tactile, visual stimulation, and movement/manipulation for a user are described. The devices can include a spinner that rotates with respect to a base. The spinner can be spun by the user to produce visual stimulation that the user may find pleasing and soothing, and which may provide therapeutic effects. The spinner may also include tactile features, such as a series of protrusions and recesses, that the user can touch or rub to create a tactile sensation, which may also help the user to relieve and/or regulate stress. The spinner also allows the user to manipulate the spinner with fingers in small repetitive movements that may reduce restlessness. The devices may be sized and shaped such that the user may uninterruptedly perform everyday tasks and discretely wear and use the devices in certain social environments such as the classroom.
Abstract: Mineral-filled polymer compositions and methods of forming such polymer compositions into a thermally stable article are provided. Methods of forming a polymeric article include providing a polymer composition comprising a crystallizable polymer, a mineral filler in an amount of more than about 15 wt-% based on the total weight of the polymer composition, and an impact modifier, wherein the polymer composition is at a temperature less than a crystallization temperature of the crystallizable polymer. The methods further include disposing the polymer composition in a mold, forming the polymer composition into an article within the mold, and releasing the article from the mold. The methods can include thermoforming the polymer composition in a mold, or injection molding the polymer composition in a molten form in a mold.
Abstract: A circuit for performing neural network computations for a neural network comprising a plurality of layers, the circuit comprising: activation circuitry configured to receive a vector of accumulated values and configured to apply a function to each accumulated value to generate a vector of activation values; and normalization circuitry coupled to the activation circuitry and configured to generate a respective normalized value from each activation value.

Abstract: Systems and methods for conference security based on user groups are disclosed. In examples, a set of attendees (e.g., in a collaboration group) may be allowed access to a meeting by a host user with a specified access permission. The collaboration group may be in the network hosting the meeting or outside of the network. An attendee requesting access to the meeting may be verified based on the attendee's identity and membership status of the collaboration group. If an attendee's identity is not identified or if the attendee is not a member of the collaboration group, the requesting attendee may be denied access to the meeting. If the requesting attendee's identity is verified and the attendee is a member of the collaboration group, the attendee is allowed access to the meeting with their specified access permission.
Abstract: Deep neural network (DNN) models have been widely used for user-relevance content prediction. Presented herein are embodiments of a new user-relevance framework, which may be referred as Gating-Enhanced Multi-task Neural Networks (GemNN) embodiments. Neural network-based multi-task learning model embodiments herein predict user engagement with content in a coarse-to-fine manner, which gradually reduces content candidates and allows parameter sharing from upstream tasks to downstream tasks to improve the training efficiency. Also, in one or more embodiments, a gating mechanism was introduced between embedding layers and multi-layer perceptions to learn feature interactions and control the information flow fed to MLP layers. Tested embodiments demonstrated considerable improvements over prior approaches.

Abstract: A method for a soft acceptance of a hotword receives audio data characterizing a soft hotword event detected by a hotword detector in streaming audio captured by a user device. The method also processes the audio data to determine that the audio data corresponds to a query specifying an action to perform on the user device. Without triggering performance of the action on the user device or the other device, the method provides a notification for output from the user device where the notification prompts a user associated with the user device to provide an affirmative input indication in order to trigger performance of the action on the user device or the other device and, when the user fails to provide the affirmative input indication, instructs the user device or the other device to not perform the action specified by the query.

A method includes receiving an image that includes a depiction of an object; generating a set of poorly localized bounding boxes; and generating a set of accurately localized bounding boxes. The method includes training, at a first learning rate and using the poorly localized bounding boxes, an object classifier to classify the object; and training, at a second learning rate that is lower than the first learning rate, and using the accurately localized bounding boxes, the object classifier to classify the object. The method includes receiving a second image that includes a depiction of an object; and providing, to the trained object classifier, the second image. The method includes receiving an indication that the object classifier classified the object in the second image; and performing one or more actions.

Abstract: Verification of digital identities with a non-repudiable proof of identity maintained in a verification log. The verification log may be generated by a platform for verification of a digital identity of a human user in response a request for verification of a human user's identity from a relying party. Such verification may be performed via online transactions or via an identity verification device. The non-repudiable proof of identity may include records in the verification audit log that may be non-reversible. As such, anonymized records may be maintained that demonstrate proof of identity verification without providing sensitive details. The verification log may be accessible by relying parties and/or end users to provide a record of verifications.
