Abstract: Computer implemented systems and methods for cross-platform spoiler blocking are provided herein. An example method includes ascertaining by a data platform data potentially available to a user of a service having a media object; identifying by the data platform at least one object revealed by the media object, the at least one object being associated with an application; receiving by the data platform metadata associated with the at least one object, the metadata indicative of whether the at least one object should be hidden from the user; determining by the data platform, based on the metadata, the at least one object is a potential spoiler; and blocking by the data platform, the user from interacting with the media object through the service.
Abstract: Highly efficient and rapid filtration-based concentration devices, systems and methods are disclosed with sample fluidic lines and a filter packaged in a disposable tip which concentrate biological particles that are suspended in liquid from a dilute feed suspension. A sample concentrate or retentate suspension is retained while eliminating the separated fluid in a separate flow stream. The concentrate is then dispensed from the disposable tip in a set volume of elution fluid. Suspended biological particles include such materials as proteins/toxins, viruses, DNA, and/or bacteria in the size range of approximately 0.001 micron to 20 microns diameter. Concentration of these particles is advantageous for detection of target particles in a dilute suspension, because concentrating them into a small volume makes them easier to detect. All conduits by which the disposable tip attaches to the instrument are combined into a single connection point on the upper end of the tip.

Abstract: A system including one or more processors and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computing instructions that, when run on the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform functions including: reconfiguring a webpage as an undirected graph; identifying a cyclic dependency in the undirected graph; iterating processing one or more inferences over the cyclic dependency for each pair of the nodes of the set of the nodes; breaking one or more of edges of the undirected graph; determining, based at least in part on compatibility functions of the one or more edges remaining after breaking the one or more of the edges, a probability of the webpage having exceeded a predetermined threshold to cause a user to take an action; and sending instructions to display the webpage. Other embodiments are described.
Abstract: A method includes forming, by a laser beam supplied by a laser cutting system, a laser-cut line in each of a plurality of glass samples. Each different laser-cut line in each different glass sample of the plurality of glass samples is formed when the laser cutting system is at a different process setting. The method also includes subjecting each of the plurality of glass samples with the laser-cut lines to a break test, and obtaining a plurality of break strength values. Each different break strength value of the plurality of break strength values is indicative of a laser-cut line quality of the respective glass sample of the plurality of glass samples.

Abstract: Provided are approaches for concealing or obscuring transaction card numbers. In some approaches, a transaction card may include a body comprising a first main side opposite a second main side, and a plurality of structures extending from at least one of the first or second main sides. In a bent configuration of the body, the plurality of structures separate from one another, in a substantially flat configuration of the body, adjacent structures of the plurality of structures abut one another.
Abstract: Illumination devices for impinging light on tissue, for example within a body cavity of a patient, to induce various biological effects are disclosed. Biological effects may include at least one of inactivating and/or inhibiting growth of one or more pathogens, upregulating a local immune response, increasing endogenous stores of nitric oxide, releasing nitric oxide from endogenous stores, and inducing an anti-inflammatory effect. Wavelengths of light are selected based on intended biological effects for one or more of targeted tissue types and targeted pathogens. Light treatments may provide multiple pathogenic biological effects, either with light of a single wavelength or with light having multiple wavelengths. Devices for light treatments are disclosed that provide light doses for inducing biological effects on various targeted pathogens and tissues with increased efficacy and reduced cytotoxicity.

Abstract: A start-up method for contacting a feed stream with fluidized catalyst is disclosed. The start-up method comprises reacting a feed stream over a catalyst to produce a gas stream and spent catalyst. The gas stream is separated from the spent catalyst. The separated gas stream is passed to a compressor. The operating condition associated with the compressor is measured. Based on the measured operating condition associated with the compressor, one or both of a supplemental hydrocarbon stream and a supplemental hydrogen gas stream is provided to the compressor to meet a predetermined operating condition associated with the compressor.

Abstract: A carrier device for a seating area divider provided within a vehicle cabin, in particular an aircraft cabin, comprising at least a base member and a fixation device which is coupled to the base member to support the base member on a cabin floor. The base member is configured to carry a privacy divider screen of the seating area divider. The fixation device comprises at least a seat track locking member protruding perpendicular from the base member.
Abstract: In one set of embodiments, a hypervisor of a host system can receive a packet processing program from a virtual network interface controller (NIC) driver of a virtual machine (VM) running on the hypervisor. The hypervisor can then attach the packet processing program to a first execution point in a physical NIC driver of the hypervisor and to a second execution point in a virtual NIC backend of the hypervisor, where the virtual NIC backend corresponds to a virtual NIC of the VM that originated the packet processing program.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for selecting representative frames for videos is provided. The method includes receiving a video and identifying a set of features for each of the frames of the video. The features including frame-based features and semantic features. The semantic features identifying likelihoods of semantic concepts being present as content in the frames of the video. A set of video segments for the video is subsequently generated. Each video segment includes a chronological subset of frames from the video and each frame is associated with at least one of the semantic features. The method generates a score for each frame of the subset of frames for each video segment based at least on the semantic features, and selecting a representative frame for each video segment based on the scores of the frames in the video segment. The representative frame represents and summarizes the video segment.
