Abstract: Presented are thermal management systems using coolant flow distribution plates for immersion cooling of battery cells, methods for making/using such systems, and vehicles equipped with such systems for cooling the vehicles' battery packs. A battery assembly includes multiple battery cells arranged in adjacent, mutually parallel cell rows. The battery cells are stored inside a protective battery housing that includes inlet and outlet fluid ports for receiving and evacuating therethrough dielectric coolant fluid. A pair of (first and second) separator plates is located between each neighboring pair of cell rows. Each plate includes coolant channels that are arranged in mutually parallel channel bands. The separator plates are in face-to-face contact with each other such that each channel band of the first separator plate is aligned with a respective channel band of the second plate so the coolant channels cooperatively distribute coolant fluid onto and vertically upward between the battery cells.

Abstract: A structure comprises at least one outer wall having an internal wall section and an outer wall section with an air flow passage therebetween. A circulation system circulates air through the flow passage to inhibit moisture accumulation and mold growth. A sensing system determines the presence of moisture in the flow passage and generates a signal in response thereto. A controller receives the signal from the sensing system and controls the circulation system to maintain a predetermined temperature and relative humidity in the flow passage.

Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for an optical domain controller for managing and maintaining a record of network component configuration and interconnections. The optical domain controller detects changes in a configuration of optical network elements in response to a requested service from the network, coordinates additional changes in configurations to optical network elements that may be affected by the detected change, communicates with the optical network elements to incorporate the changes to the configurations of the network element, and stores the configurations and states of the network elements. The use of the optical domain controller may thus replace or supplement a database storing network configuration information by automatically managing changes to the network as new services are instantiated directly on the optical network elements.

Abstract: A system for sorting objects is provided. For instance, the system includes a first and second sensor for observing the objects before and after sorting and a controller having an action agent module and a learning agent module. The controller updates, by the learning agent module, a policy matrix after sorting previously sorted objects. The policy matrix includes state data of the previously sorted objects including sensor data, an action performed by the sorting actuator, and a sorting score. The controller actuates the sorting actuator, calculates a specific sorting score based on a specific action performed by the sorting actuator, and updates the policy matrix to create an updated policy matrix including updated sorting rules. The updated policy matrix is used in sorting subsequent objects. In another example, the controller loads a policy matrix that was determined incrementally during sorting of previously sorted objects.
