Abstract: A deep insert, inflatable hearing protection earplug is provided that is easy for an untrained user to insert correctly, reliably providing high acoustic attenuation and remaining both secure and comfortable for long durations in a human ear. The earplug comprises a soft elastomer shell that forms a sealed volume filled with an inert fluid. The earplug can comprise a slender, flexible stem that is easily insertable into the ear canal when deflated. The proximal end of the earplug can be situated outside the ear canal, within the concha of the ear, and incorporates a bulb with a hemispherical, bistable cap. After inserting the shaft of the earplug into the ear canal, the wearer applies force with a finger to invert the cap, which transitions elastically from a convex to a concave external geometry, displacing a fixed volume of fluid to inflate a sheath that forms the outer covering of the stem, filling and sealing the ear canal.
Abstract: A battery pack includes an upper sidewall section of an enclosure, a lower sidewall section of the enclosure, and a fastener that moves to a secured position to secure the upper sidewall section to the lower sidewall section. The fastener is configured to be moved to the secured position from within an interior area of the enclosure. The battery pack further includes a gasket seal held between the upper sidewall section and the lower sidewall section at a position outside the fastener relative to an interior area of the enclosure.

Abstract: A landing gear assembly for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is described. The landing gear assembly includes a mounting block assembly adapted to mount to a structural frame of a fuselage of the UAV, a shared shock assembly including a spring adapted to provide a spring force and a damper adapted to dampen oscillations of the spring, a pair of leg members extending out from the mounting block assembly, and a pair of pivot blocks each pivotally mounted to the mounting block assembly. The pivot blocks are rigidly connected to a corresponding one of the leg members and pivotally connected to one of opposing ends of the shared shock assembly. The leg members are each connected to a ground gear. An upward suspension travel of one or both of the ground gears rotates one or both of the pivot blocks, thereby compressing the spring.
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to an article carrier for packaging one or more articles and a blank for forming the carrier. The article carrier (90; 290) comprises a plurality of top-engaging openings or engaging structures RT1, RT2, RTS each having an annular series of engaging teeth or tabs (16; 216) along the perimeter of that opening. The annular series of engaging tabs (16; 216) of each opening is interrupted by at most two gaps (26, 26A, 26B). A notional diametrical line z-z? passes through the center of each of the at most two gaps (26, 26A, 26B) and extends substantially perpendicular to the grain direction GR of paper material from which the article carrier (90; 290) is formed.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for automatically determining the relevance of matches between entities. A set of one or more indicators of relevance for each of a plurality of matches may be detected, where each of the plurality of matches exists between a first entity and a different one of a plurality of entities. Each set of one or more indicators of relevance indicates a degree of two-way interest for a corresponding one of the plurality of matches, the degree of two-way interest indicating both a degree of interest of the first entity in the corresponding one of the plurality of entities and a degree of interest of the corresponding one of the plurality of entities in the first entity. A probability of relevance of each of the plurality of matches may be determined based at least in part upon a corresponding set of one or more indicators of relevance. Each of the plurality of matches may be ranked based at least in part on the corresponding probability of relevance.

Abstract: A system and method for fingerprint-based network mapping of cyber-physical assets, including a distributed operating system, parameter evaluation engine, at least one cyber-physical asset, at least one crypt-ledger, a network, and a scanner that retrieves stored fingerprint records and performs scans of cyber-physical assets to compare against corresponding fingerprints and update a cyber-physical graph based on the success or failure of fingerprint matching.
Abstract: A soil monitoring system includes a controller having a memory and a processor. The controller is configured to instruct an actuator to drive a shank to move upwardly and downwardly, such that at least one soil monitoring sensor coupled to a lateral side of the shank moves in a cyclical pattern through soil as the shank is driven to move through the soil along a direction of travel. The controller is also configured to receive multiple sensor signals from the at least one soil monitoring sensor while the at least one soil monitoring sensor is at respective depths within the soil, in which each sensor signal is indicative of at least one soil property. In addition, the controller is configured to determine a vertical profile of the at least one soil property based on the sensor signals.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the use of 1-[4-bromo-5-[1-ethyl-7-(methylamino)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-1,6-naphthyridin-3-yl]-2-fluorophenyl]-3-phenylurea or 1-(5-(7-amino-1-ethyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-1,6-naphthyridin-3-yl)-4-bromo-2-fluorophenyl)-3-phenylurea, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in combination with a MAPKAP kinase inhibitor for the treatment of cancers, including c-KIT-mediated cancers, such as GIST.

Abstract: A mechanically and piezoelectrically anisotropic polymer thin film is formed from a crystallizable polymer and an additive configured to interact with the polymer to facilitate chain alignment and, in some examples, create a higher crystalline content within the polymer thin film. The polymer thin film and its method of manufacture may be characterized by a bimodal molecular weight distribution where the molecular weight of the additive may be less than approximately 5% of the molecular weight of the crystallizable polymer. Example polymers may include vinylidene fluoride, trifluoroethylene, chlorotrifluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, and vinyl fluoride. Example additives may occupy up to approximately 60 wt. % of the polymer thin film. The polymer thin film may be characterized by a piezoelectric coefficient (d31) of at least approximately 5 pC/N or an electromechanical coupling factor (k31) of at least approximately 0.1.

Abstract: Systems and methods of evaluating information in a computer network environment are provided. A data processing system can obtain or receive a content placement criterion, such as a keyword, associated with a content item and can determine a quality metric of the content placement criterion. The data processing system can identify a candidate content placement criterion and expand placement criteria associated with the content item to include the content placement criterion and the candidate content placement criterion based at least in part on an evaluation of the quality metric of the content placement criterion. The data processing system can expand placement criteria based in part on a throttling parameter. The data processing system can identify a correlation between a document and the placement criteria to identify appropriate content items for the document.
Abstract: This invention provides a system-oriented and fully-controlled connected automated vehicle highway system for various levels of connected and automated vehicles and highways. The system comprises one or more of: 1) a hierarchical traffic control network of Traffic Control Centers (TCC's), local traffic controller units (TCUs), 2) A RSU (Road Side Unit) network (with integrated functionalities of vehicle sensors, I2V communication to deliver control instructions), 3) OBU (On-Board Unit with sensor and V2I communication units) network embedded in connected and automated vehicles, and 4) wireless communication and security system with local and global connectivity. This system provides a safer, more reliable and more cost-effective solution by redistributing vehicle driving tasks to the hierarchical traffic control network and RSU network.
