Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for delaying a dynamic connection modification of a user device connection. A first frequency band is determined to have a greater sector power ratio (SPR) than a second frequency band. The first frequency band is determined to have a loading factor above a threshold. Based at least in part on the first frequency band having the greater SPR and the first frequency band having the loading factor above the threshold, a connection of the user device to the first frequency band for access for to a wireless communication protocol is delayed.
Abstract: The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a system that includes a light source to produce a first beam and one or more first optical elements to impart an orbital angular momentum (OAM) to at least some of a plurality of output beams obtained from the first beam. The system further includes an output optical device to direct the output beams towards a target object and a plurality of photodetectors to generate signals representative of a difference between an input phase information, carried by one or more beams reflected from the target object, and an output phase information, carried by one of local copies of the output beams. The system further includes a processing device to determine, using the difference between the input phase information and the output phase information, one or more orthogonal components of a velocity of the target object.

Abstract: An invasive interventional device or probe for use in an interventional medical procedure includes a control handle operably connected to an imaging system and an insertion tube. The body having an exterior cross-sectional shape and defining an interior with an interior cross-sectional shape. The body is formed with a pair of opposed side panels, a pair of opposed end panels joining opposite ends of the pair of side panels, a top panel disposed over and joined to the pair of side panels and the pair of end panels and a bottom panel located opposite the top panel and joined to the pair of side panels and the pair of end panels with one or more control elements disposed on the body that control the operation of the interventional device. In addition, the exterior cross-sectional shape of the body conforms to a space defined within a hand in a relaxed grip position.
Abstract: An example method of operation may include identifying speakers and microphones connected to a network controlled by a controller, assigning a preliminary output gain to the speakers used to apply test signals, measuring ambient noise detected from the microphones, recording chirp responses from all microphones simultaneously based on the test signals, deconvolving all chirp responses to determine a corresponding number of impulse responses, and measuring average sound pressure levels (SPLs) of each of the microphones to obtain a SPL level based on an average of the SPLs.

Abstract: This invention provides a system-oriented and fully-controlled connected automated vehicle highway system for various levels of connected and automated vehicles and highways. The system comprises one or more of: 1) a hierarchical traffic control network of Traffic Control Centers (TCC's), local traffic controller units (TCUs), 2) A RSU (Road Side Unit) network (with integrated functionalities of vehicle sensors, I2V communication to deliver control instructions), 3) OBU (On-Board Unit with sensor and V2I communication units) network embedded in connected and automated vehicles, and 4) wireless communication and security system with local and global connectivity. Abstract: A housing and cooling system for computer hardware includes an infrastructure module and a payload module. The infrastructure module is configured for housing computer hardware and is equipped with either or both of a convective air cooling system and an arrangement of metal plates connected by one or more conduits for carrying liquid for cooling computer equipment housed by the infrastructure module. The infrastructure modules also houses a programmable logic controller (“PLC”). The payload module includes an immersion cooling system governed by the PLC and is located outside of the infrastructure module.
Abstract: Method and apparatus pertaining to the production of hydrogen sulfide using sodium salts recycle. Sodium sulfate is reacted with a carbon containing stream to produce sodium sulfide and carbon dioxide. The sodium sulfide is blended with elemental sulfur and water. The blend is subjected to elevated temperatures and pressures to result in the production of hydrogen sulfide and sodium sulfate. A mixing apparatus, such as a bubble column reactor, has been found to be especially useful. The hydrogen sulfide can be used for removing metal from effluents.
Abstract: Present embodiments include a control system for one or more battery cells. The control system includes a bi-stable relay configured to switch a state of the bi-stable relay upon receiving a control signal to electrically connect or electrically disconnect the one or more battery cells to a bus and to remain in the state after receiving the control signal. The control system includes a controller configured to be operatively coupled to the bi-stable relay and configured to send the control signal indicative of instructions to control operation of the bi-stable relay based on the state.

Abstract: In one aspect, a light module is disclosed, which includes a housing providing a hollow chamber extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a lens positioned in the hollow chamber, where the lens has a lens body comprising an input surface for receiving light from a light source and an output surface through which light exits the lens body, said lens further comprising a collar at least partially encircling said lens body. The light module further includes at least one shoulder on which the lens collar can be seated for positioning the lens within the housing. A light source, e.g., an LED, is coupled to the hollow chamber, e.g., at its proximal end, for providing light to the lens. In some embodiments, an optical window is disposed in the hollow chamber and is optically coupled to the output surface of the lens such that the light exiting the lens passes through the optical window before exiting the light module. In some embodiments, the shoulder can be formed as part of the housing.

Abstract: A communication system includes a first wireless base station supporting communications with multiple mobile communication devices. The first wireless base station is limited to an amount of power it is able to consume. For example, the wireless base station receives power consumption information from a power consumption manager. To control power consumption with respect to the received power consumption information, the wireless base station determines (such as based on an estimation, calculation, measurement, etc.), an amount of a power consumption by the wireless base station while communicating with multiple mobile communication devices. The wireless base station adjusts wireless communications transmitted from the wireless base station to maintain the power consumption of the wireless base station with respect to a power consumption limit as indicated by the received power consumption information.
