Abstract: An indexed sequence of bits in a buffer is allocated for tracking a battery charging state. The indexed sequence of bits has a first number of bits. A battery voltage of a rechargeable battery is sampled at a sampling rate. For each sampled battery voltage, the battery voltage is compared with a voltage threshold. A next bit position in the indexed sequence of bits is identified. In accordance with a determination that a comparison result is true, a predefined first value is added to the next bit position. A second number of bits that are filled with the predefined first value is determined. A ratio between the second number and the first number is also determined. In accordance with a determination that the ratio exceeds a threshold step-down ratio, a battery charge voltage is stepped down. The rechargeable battery is charged to a step-down voltage.

Abstract: A LIDAR system includes a first polygon scanner, a second polygon scanner, and an optic. The first polygon scanner includes a plurality of first facets around an axis of rotation. The second polygon scanner includes plurality of second facets that are outward from the plurality of first facets relative to the axis of rotation. The optic is inward from the first polygon scanner relative to the axis of rotation. The optic is configured to output a first beam to the first polygon scanner. The first polygon scanner is configured to refract the first beam to output a second beam to the second polygon scanner. The second polygon scanner is configured to refract the second beam to output a third beam.

Abstract: Presented are articulating roof assemblies for electrical generator systems, methods for making/using such roof assemblies, and fuel cell powered electric vehicle charging stations with such roof assemblies. An electrical generator system includes a mobile or stationary rigid support frame with an electrical generator that is mounted to the support frame and operable to generate electric power. At least one charging cable is electrically connected to the generator in order to transfer the electric power to a load. A control circuit is communicatively connected to the generator and governs the creation and transfer of electric power. Mounted onto the rigid support frame is a roof assembly with one or more roof panels. Each roof panel is movable between an undeployed position, whereat the roof panel at least partially covers the generator, and a deployed position, whereat the roof panel is obliquely angled to and/or projects outwardly from the rigid support frame.

Abstract: Fiber management organizer assemblies of telecommunications closures. The assemblies include a basket for holding portions of optical fibers and a fiber management tray support structure that pivotally supports fiber management trays. A fiber retainer can be selectively mounted at any of a plurality of mounting locations defined by the tray support structure or another structure based on specific fiber management requirements for a given organizer.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes thermal mitigation for an electronic speaker device and associated systems and methods. The thermal mitigation includes monitoring several thermal zones to determine or estimate thermal conditions in corresponding parts of the electronic speaker device. The thermal zones may include a System-on-Chip (SoC) integrated circuit (IC) component, audio components including power-dissipating IC components, and a temperature of an exterior surface of a housing component of the electronic speaker device. To mitigate thermal runaway, different throttling schemes may be triggered based on the thermal zones exceeding certain thermal limits. The throttling schemes may include reducing the amount of power supplied to the SoC, reducing audio power of the audio components to a lower wattage, or manipulating SoC cores such as by disabling one or more of the cores or adjusting utilization of the SoC cores.

The control device includes a lever coupled to and pivotable relative to the housing, and a master cylinder portion supported by the housing. The master cylinder portion has a hollow fluid cylinder. The control device also includes a piston assembly supported by the housing. The piston assembly is movable relative to the master cylinder portion. At least part of the piston assembly is disposed within the master cylinder portion. The master cylinder portion is angled relative to the outward facing side of the base portion of the housing, such that the first end of the fluid cylinder is closer to the outward facing side than the second end of the fluid cylinder is relative to the outward facing side.

Abstract: Logic may provide a lock for a credit card that may, e.g., prevent or attenuate fraudulent transactions. Logic may include one or more user interaction mechanisms to physically interact with a user to change a user-configurable circuit to create an unlock pattern with the user-configurable circuit to allow the payment instrument to authorize transactions and one or more lock patterns to prevent the payment instrument from authorizing transactions. The one or more user interaction mechanisms may comprise moveable conductors to connect or disconnect circuits of the user-configurable circuit to create the unlock pattern and the lock patterns. The logic may comprise a processor to process transactions and be coupled with memory. The logic may receive power from a point of sale (POS) terminal to process a transaction, apply the power to the user-configurable circuit, and determine an output of the user-configurable circuit to determine if the transaction succeeds or fails.

Abstract: Embodiments of the system in include a method of clustering data sets based on the data set characteristics. A data repository stores a plurality of heterogeneous data sets. For a selected group of data sets (i) obtaining metadata; (ii) identifying upstream data sets; and (iii) extracting semantic features. The method further comprises clustering the plurality of data sets into one or more clusters based on similarity, wherein the similarity is determined based on a combination of the metadata, the upstream data sets, and the semantic features of the selected data sets. In one embodiment, the data sets are ranked within each cluster based on data set quality. The method enables the presenting of at least one cluster including one or more ranked data sets in response to a search query.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for delivering and receiving messages. An embodiment operates by allowing users to subscribe to various chat panels of a messaging system. Users will be able to utilize the chat panels to send and receive messages. In a corporate context, an administrator may be able to quickly send unidirectional messages to employees as well as assign users to mandatory divisions based on job function. In an embodiment, the messaging system also allows for email integration and graphical user interface workspace configuration.

Abstract: A system for transmitting an audio signal in a vehicle includes a stabilizer located at a source position in the vehicle. At least one speaker is operatively connected to the stabilizer. The speaker is adapted to transmit an audio signal to a target position for at least partially supporting a spatial audio representation. The target position and the source position are independently movable. The stabilizer is adapted to direct the audio signal such that a trajectory between the target position and the source position is maintained regardless of respective motion of the target position and the source position. The trajectory includes a first segment between the source position and a deflecting surface and a second segment between the deflecting surface and the target position.

Abstract: A method of marking lesions is disclosed herein. The disclosed method may assist surgeons localize small nodules by marking the nodules with a fiducial coil soaked with a fluorescent dye. In some preferred embodiments, the fiducial coil is placed at the time of biopsy using a robotic surgery system. In alternate embodiments, non-robotic peripheral navigation platforms may also be used effectively as an adjunct to surgical resection. The dye marks the location of a nodule, making it visible and palpable at the time of surgery. A surgeon may then target cancerous tissue with greater precision. The disclosed method allows a fiducial coil to be placed several days prior to surgery.

Abstract: A packaging material including one or more expandable layers that provide protection to contents of a packaging enclosure formed with the packaging material. The packaging material includes at least a first layer and a second layer bonded to one another. The first layer is pulled or extended in a first direction that is effective to cause the second layer to expand in a second direction. The second layer is a cut-patterned layer which increases in thickness and provides structural strength to the packaging material when expanded.

Abstract: There is described a shower system that includes a showerhead fixture and a base connected by conduits. The showerhead fixture includes an inlet for receiving pressurized water. A diverter is configured to divert at least a portion of the pressurized water to the base. The showerhead fixture also includes a second inlet fluidly connected to a recirculating showerhead portion with a plurality of showerhead jets for expelling mixed water received from the base. The base is configured to create a reservoir of water on a shower floor and includes a venturi pump capable of using pressurized water from the showerhead fixture to draw in water from the reservoir into the stream of pressurized water. The mixed water is sent from the base to the jets in the showerhead fixture to thereby increase the volume of water expelled from the showerhead.

One or more processors synchronizes the associated time of each first signal to a common time scale. Abstract: A display assembly includes a display layer with a plurality of display elements to provide display light and form a display image. A first subset of display elements is used while the display assembly is operating in a full visibility mode, and a second subset of display elements is used while the display assembly is operating in a restricted visibility mode. A touch-sensitive layer includes a plurality of conductive traces disposed proximate to the display layer. The plurality of conductive traces are shaped and positioned to block a first portion of the display light while the display assembly is operating in the full visibility mode, and block a second, greater portion of the display light while the display assembly is operating in the restricted visibility mode. A visibility controller is used to switch the display assembly between the full visibility mode and the restricted visibility mode.
