Abstract: A data processing system implements training a first convolutional neural network (CNN) to classify shapes in digital ink inputs, the first CNN being trained to receive ink stroke information as an input and to output an indication whether the ink stroke information represents a hand drawn geometric shape. The data processing system further implements compressing the first CNN to generate a second CNN capable of being operated on a resource-constrained computing device lacking sufficient computing resources to operate an instance of the first CNN and installing the second CNN on the resource-constrained computing device to process ink stroke information captured by a user interface of the computing device.

Abstract: Embodiments provide an animated graphical user interface for simultaneously monitoring multiple autonomous aircraft. More specifically, techniques disclosed herein provide a GUI that allows for one-to-many supervision where a remote supervisor (e.g., human or artificial intelligence) may continuously monitor and/or interact with a plurality of autonomous aircraft. For example, the autonomous aircraft may include one or more autonomous electric vertical takeoff landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Embodiments provide command input system and techniques that reduce human error by assigning an input mechanism and a command input menu to a unique flight parameter.

Abstract: This application relates to video encoding and decoding, and specifically to tools and techniques for using and providing supplemental enhancement information in bitstreams. Among other things, the detailed description presents innovations for bitstreams having supplemental enhancement information (SEI). In particular embodiments, the SEI message includes picture source data (e.g., data indicating whether the associated picture is a progressive scan picture or an interlaced scan picture and/or data indicating whether the associated picture is a duplicate picture). The SEI message can also express a confidence level of the encoder's relative confidence in the accuracy of this picture source data. A decoder can use the confidence level indication to determine whether the decoder should separately identify the picture as progressive or interlaced and/or a duplicate picture or honor the picture source scanning information in the SEI as it is.

Abstract: One example provides a hands free electric vehicle (EV) charging system including a charge transfer unit (CTU) to receive at least one charging power input, the CTU including a receptacle and a controllable power switch. A vehicle charging unit (VTU) is to be mounted to an underside of the EV, the VTU including a vertically controllable power cord having a plug, the power cord to electrically connect to a battery charging system of the EV, and an alignment system to adjust a horizontal position of the plug. When the VTU is positioned vertically over the CTU, the VTU is to horizontally align the plug with the receptacle and thereafter to vertically lower the power cord to place the plug in the receptacle and create an electrical connection there between, whereupon the CTU is to connect the power cord to the charging power source via the power switch.

Abstract: A provided wireless wallbox dimmer may accommodate a plurality of button configurations. The dimmer may be configured to contain a variable number of controllably conductive devices. The dimmer may include a yoke that defines a first plane and an antenna that defines a second plane that is substantially parallel to and spaced apart from the first plane. The yoke may have a flange that is oriented angularly offset relative to the first plane and provides a plurality of mounting locations for controllably conductive devices. The antenna may provide the dimmer with a first wireless transmission range. The dimmer may include a faceplate that cooperates with the antenna to provide the dimmer with a second wireless transmission range that is broader than the first wireless transmission range. The dimmer may include a button assembly that is supported independently of the yoke.

A glare condition threshold used to determine whether a glare condition exists may be based on the resolution of the image. When the resolution of the image is higher, the glare condition threshold may be higher. The sensor and/or system controller may organize one or more adjacent pixels having similar intensities into pixel groups. The pixel groups may vary in size and/or shape. The sensor and/or system controller may determine a representative group luminance for the pixel group (e.g., an average luminance of the pixels in the group). The sensor and/or system controller may determine a group glare condition threshold, which may be used to determine whether a glare condition exists for the group of pixels and/or may be based on the size of the group.

Abstract: This invention is eyewear (e.g. eyeglasses) with electrodes (e.g. EEG sensors) which collect brain activity data (e.g. electroencephalographic data) which can be used to predict and/or detect health events (e.g. epileptic seizure, stroke, or heart attack) or function as a BCI (Brain-to-Computer Interface) for communication. There can be anterior and posterior electrodes on the eyewear temple and the temple can have an upward and/or inward curving wave or arm. A posterior electrode can have multiple electroconductive protrusions to help penetrate between strands of hair.

A method may include providing an application for receiving user inputs for testing a virtual network function (VNF); receiving, via the application, a first user input associated with adding an image of a virtual machine instance to the application; downloading, via the application, the image based on the first user input; receiving, via the application, a second user input associated with instantiating a service associated with the virtual machine instance; instantiating, via the application, the service based on the second user input; receiving, via the application, a third user input associated with testing the VNF with the edge gateway device using the image and the service; and executing, via the application, a test of the VNF with an edge gateway using the image and the service based on the third user input.

Abstract: Disclosed is a contactless card, and a system in which the contactless card may be used. The contactless card may include a chip component, a communication interface, processing circuitry, and electromagnetic field sensing circuitry. The electromagnetic field sensing circuitry of the contactless card may be operable to provide orientation signals to the processing circuitry when the contactless card is in proximity to an oscillating electromagnetic field output by a card reader device. The processing circuitry of the contactless card may be operable to receive the orientation signals. An orientation of the contactless card with respect to the mobile device may be determined. An orientation indication signal may be generated based on the determined orientation, and a haptic indication, an audio indication, a visual indication or a combination directing movement of the contactless card in a particular direction may be output.

Abstract: In a general aspect, a cloud-based control platform remotely controls variable settings on a remotely-controlled system. In some aspects, the platform maintains a database of data objects for assets, and the data objects include static and dynamic hyperparameters associated with the asset and a template that specifies values of a variable associated with the asset for future time points. The platform updates a template for a data object by calculating target values for the variable for the future time points based on a target criterion, communicating with remote computer systems to determine current values of the dynamic hyperparameters, calculating scaled values for the future time points by applying a determined ratio to the target values, adjusting the scaled values based on the static hyperparameters, applying an override value to the adjusted scaled values. The remotely-controlled system is updated according to the updated template at each of the future time points.

Abstract: A wireless testing system is provided that tests Wi-Fi signal strength of devices of a local network to determine distribution of network devices within the local network. In particular, one or more Wi-Fi-based devices may be located within or near a premises in which a wireless network is present. The devices are configured to automatically connect to a particular test broadcast signal from a modem and provide signal strength data. An application may log into or otherwise access the information obtained by the modem concerning the Wi-Fi signal strength of the wireless devices. The application may analyze the Wi-Fi signal strength information and may execute a recommendation engine to provide one or more recommendations/directions for installing components of the wireless network, such as wireless devices, modems, etc. to improve the coverage of the wireless network and provide a more robust wireless experience for devices within the wireless network.

Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to creation and operation of a marketplace among trusted small and medium sized banks for participation in packages of loans. This technology can be applied to formation of other marketplaces in which trust matters and controlled dissemination of opportunity information, as in layers or rounds, proceeds manually. Aspects of the technology disclosed can be used by initiators and participants to package syndicated and funded loans once a marketplace is established, whether the market is established applying the technology disclosed or otherwise.
