Abstract: A system, medical devices, and methods for use in surgical procedures, such as spinal surgeries. The system, medical devices, and methods are designed to provide a surgeon the ability to add a screw connector, or screw head such as a tulip, to pre-existing implanted bone, such as pedicle, facet, lateral mass, etc., screw system without having to remove the previously implanted screws and/or rods already existing in a patient.
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for point cloud compression and decompression. In some examples, an apparatus for point cloud compression/decompression includes processing circuitry. In some examples, the processing circuitry receives a bitstream carrying compressed data for a point cloud. The processing circuitry determines that a current node in an octree structure is eligible for an isolated mode. The octree structure corresponds to three dimensional (3D) partitions of a space of the point cloud. Then the processing circuitry determines, based on information of one or more other nodes, a single isolated point flag for the current node that indicates whether the current node is coded with a single isolated point.

Abstract: This disclosure provides a system by which content/service providers can enable gaze-responsive advertisement/targeted content mechanisms for CPE devices like STB's/OTT streaming devices or systems or display devices. The system creates a new opportunity for content/service providers to advertise and helps in generating revenue. The system leverages using gaze-based technology in CPE devices like STB's or large display devices. A gaze-based algorithm helps the CPE devices to locate the viewer point of attention, using which gaze-responsive advertisement/content targeting can be achieved. The disclosure provides an end to end solution—from content creation to content consumption for gaze-responsive advertisement/media delivery.
Abstract: Some embodiments track internal actions of a development tool, and actions of a user of the tool. When the user faces a problem, information about the problem state is matched to a mitigation graph that was built from other user's sessions with the tool. Then documentation contextualized to the problem is synthesized, e.g., using machine learning models, and presented to the user. In addition to text and images, the documentation may include interaction points such as hyperlinks or buttons associated with code that mitigates the problem. For example, a mitigation sequence may proactively instruct the tool to perform certain actions such as an install or build or undo, or may automatically operate the tool user interface proactively in place of the user. Mitigation sequences may be sorted, and subjected to cost or outcome desirability prioritization. An administration tool provides mitigation graph management functionality. Personally identifiable information presence is constrained.
Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to an automated assistant that uses circumstantial condition data, generated based on circumstantial conditions of an input, to determine whether the input should affect an action been initialized by a particular user. The automated assistant can allow each user to manipulate their respective ongoing action without necessitating interruptions for soliciting explicit user authentication. For example, when an individual in a group of persons interacts with the automated assistant to initialize or affect a particular ongoing action, the automated assistant can generate data that correlates that individual to the particular ongoing action. The data can be generated using a variety of different input modalities, which can be dynamically selected based on changing circumstances of the individual. Therefore, different sets of input modalities can be processed each time a user provides an input for modifying an ongoing action and/or initializing another action.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of identifying associated communications between a first network with a first addressing scheme and a second network with a second addressing scheme is presented. The technique can include: detecting a first protocol data unit addressed from a first device in the first network and addressed to a destination in the second network, prior to translation by a network address translator; inserting, prior to translation from the first addressing scheme to the second addressing scheme, a breadcrumb protocol data unit that is addressed to the second network, the breadcrumb protocol data unit including, in a location immune from address translation by the network address translator, the source address of the first protocol data unit; receiving a translated breadcrumb protocol data unit; and reporting an association of the source address of the first protocol data unit with the translated source address of the first protocol data unit.

Abstract: Presented are intelligent vehicle systems and logic for battery charge control and information display, methods for making/using such systems, and vehicles equipped with such systems. A method of operating a vehicle includes a vehicle controller receiving vehicle location data indicating a real-time location of the vehicle and determining if the vehicle's real-time location is within a virtual geofence that delineates a predefined geographic area. If the real-time vehicle location is within the virtual geofence, the controller receives user location data indicating a real-time location of a vehicle user and determines if the user's real-time location is within a predefined proximity to the vehicle. If the user is within the predefined proximity to the vehicle, the controller responsively determines if a vehicle battery is charging; if so, the controller transmits a command signal to a resident vehicle subsystem to execute a control operation related to the charging of the vehicle battery.
Abstract: Implementations described herein relate to a computer-implemented method that includes capturing image data using one or more cameras, wherein the image data includes a primary image and associated depth values. The method further includes encoding the image data in an image format. The encoded image data includes the primary image encoded in the image format and image metadata that includes a device element that includes a profile element indicative of an image type and a first camera element, wherein the first camera element includes an image element and a depth map based on the depth values. The method further includes, after the encoding, storing the image data in a file container based on the image format. The method further includes causing the primary image to be displayed.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus for video coding. In some examples, an apparatus includes processing circuitry that divides a current block into a plurality of sub-blocks, derives a plurality of pieces of sub-block motion information for the plurality of sub-blocks, generates predicted sub-block samples for the sub-blocks according to the pieces of sub-block motion information, and generates a predicted block for the current block according to a combination of the predicted sub-block samples. The processing circuitry also selects a piece of the sub-block motion information from the pieces of sub-block motion information as representative motion information for the current block, and stores the representative motion information in a history-based motion vector prediction (HMVP) buffer.
Abstract: An apparatus and method to selectively create a heat transfer effect and sensation of cooling with fluid flow that is directed within bedding on a mattress or within the mattress or within a region between the bedding and the mattress. A programmable application is accessible on a wireless network and is programmed to provide appropriate settings to attain changes over time of the region. In response to receipt of signals indicative of fluid flow rate, temperature and duration settings, a heat transfer device carries out the heat transfer in accord with an initial one of the temperature settings for an initial one of the duration settings and then in accord with a subsequent one of the temperatures settings for a subsequent one of the duration settings. The subsequent one of the temperature settings constitutes a change in the temperature setting from the initial one of the temperature settings.

The system further includes at least one processor configured to modify an attribute of a first equipment model included in a first power plant model of a first power plant, identify at least one plant relationship between the first power plant model and a second power plant model of a second power plant, determine an expected change in operation of the second power plant based on the modified attribute and the at least one plant relationship, and generate a record including an indication of the expected change.

Abstract: Innovations in adaptive encoding of screen content based on motion type are described. For example, a video encoder system receives a current picture of a video sequence. The video encoder system determines a current motion type for the video sequence and, based at least in part on the current motion type, sets one or more encoding parameters. Then, the video encoder system encodes the current picture according to the encoding parameter(s). The innovations can be used in real-time encoding scenarios when encoding screen content for a screen sharing application, desktop conferencing application, or other application. In some cases, the innovations allow a video encoder system to adapt compression to different characteristics of screen content at different times within the same video sequence.
