Abstract: The invention is a half pin for use in conjunction with external fixators, in which the half pin has a thin hydroxyapatite coating over a substantial portion thereof, a not-sharp hole-finding tip, and a variable pitch pattern in the threaded portion of the half pin. The hydroxyapatite coating must be thin—40-70 microns, deposited by plasma spray—and with limited porosity and pore size, and must extend not only over all the threads of the half pin but also a substantial portion of the unthreaded shaft proximal to the threaded end. The invention also includes a pin cube for use in association with the coated half pins. Wires may also be coated with the hydroxyapatite coating.

Abstract: An indication of a user being authenticated is received. For example, the user authenticates with a valid username/password. In response to receiving the indication of the user being authenticated, a watermark is associated with the user. The watermark is sent to a communication device of the user. For example, the watermark is sent to the user's personal computer. The communication device of the user embeds the watermark into a communication. For example, the watermark may be embedded into a communication session with a web server. The watermark is sent to a routing device on a network (e.g., a router and/or firewall). The routing device uses the watermark embedded in the communication to determine how to route the communication on the network.

Abstract: Data from data sources may be processed at an edge device. The edge device may generate a local processing result, filter the data, and/or prioritize the data. Accordingly, data is transmitted from the edge device to the data platform, where it may be processed further. For example, a local processing result may be processed at the data platform, such that processing is performed without all of the data source data. In examples, at least a part of such data may remain at an edge device. The edge device may maintain a manifest of data stored by the edge device. The data platform may generate an aggregated manifest using manifests from associated edge devices, such that it may be determined where data is stored. As a result, the data platform may redirect requests to an associated edge device when it is determined that requested data is remote from the data platform.

Abstract: A three dimensional non-volatile memory structure includes word lines connected to non-volatile memory cells arranged in blocks. A plurality of word line switches are connected to the word lines and one or more sources of voltage. The word line switches are arranged in groups of X word line switches such that each group of X word line switches is positioned in a line under Y blocks of non-volatile memory cells and has a length that is equal to the width of the Y blocks of non-volatile memory cells. To allow closer placement of word line switches that supply different blocks and support the possible large voltage differences between their transistors, word line switches supplying different blocks are formed over a single active region and separated by an intermediate control gate set to be off.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to systems for capturing, recording, and playing back steps for building objects and structures in an artificial reality (XR) world. A teacher or creator can initiate a capture context within a build mode of an XR application, during which steps (and potentially other metadata) of a building process are recorded and stored. A XR world building engine can generate an interactive replay of the recorded building process that allows another user to view the building process within an XR environment at the user's preferred pace and/or from different perspectives. In some implementations, the XR world building engine can generate a replay of the teacher's or creator's avatar performing the building process, such that the user can view the building process from a third person perspective and perform the same steps to learn how to build objects and structures in an XR world.
