Abstract: A support having a magnetically assisted deployment and retraction mechanism which is designed for use with protective covers for personal electronic devices such as smartphones and tablet computing devices featuring a segmented support structure that deploys from a first channel when a shuttle located in a second channel disposed under the first channel is moved from a first position to a second position. The shuttle contains a first magnet and a second magnet, and the segmented support contains magnets which generate either attractive or repulsive forces depending on the position of the shuttle, which forces cause deployment of the support.

Abstract: A downhole gas ventilation system includes a perforated tubing positioned within a production tubing installed in a wellbore. The perforated tubing couples to wellbore equipment positioned uphole of the perforated tubing within the wellbore to flow multiphase hydrocarbons received within the perforated tubing into the wellbore equipment. The perforated tubing includes two ends and a sidewall connecting the two. Multiple perforations formed in the sidewall receives the multiphase hydrocarbons within the perforated tubing. The perforated tubing outer diameter is smaller than the production tubing inner diameter. The perforated tubing facilitates separation of the liquid phase from the gaseous phase. A one-way check valve is coupled to the upper end of the perforated tubing to vent the gaseous phase that rises towards the upper end out of the perforated tubing, out of the production tubing and into an annulus defined between the production tubing and the wellbore inner wall.

Abstract: A burner and a method utilize a burner tile with an outer surface extending along the furnace wall and an inner surface defining a passageway. A fuel duct extends at least partially through the passageway and discharges fuel onto a burner head. The burner head forms a coanda-curved surface, wherein the fuel is directed onto the coanda-curved surface such that the fuel flows along the coanda-curved surface to the outer surface of the burner tile. There is an air channel defined by an outside edge of the coanda-curved surface and in fluid flow communication with the passageway such that air flows from the passageway through the channel to mix with the fuel so as to produce the combustible mixture.

Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods relating to full motion video (FMV) routing in one-way transfer (OWT) systems. The present technology reserves a particular channel for transmission of a video stream, and then transmits the video stream from a low-trust computing environment to a high-trust computing environment along a data path defined by the channel. When the video stream is received on the high-trust side, the channel, on which the video stream is received, is determined and used to query a routing table that returns destination addresses of destination devices to which the video stream is to be transmitted. The video stream is then delivered to the destination devices having the corresponding addresses.

Abstract: An infill material for use with synthetic turf is made from coconut coir strands/filaments by a method which extracts the coir strands/filaments from the coconut and processes the coir strands/filaments to have a length between about 0.05 mm to about 30 mm. The processed coconut coir strands/filaments are water resistant as well as mold and fungus resistant and provide a synthetic turf system more similar to natural grass.
Abstract: An injector for a combustor of a gas turbine engine is provided with a plurality of first vanes radially arrayed about a central axis of the injector and a plurality of second vanes radially arrayed about the central axis of the injector and disposed radially inward of the plurality of first vanes. A plurality of fuel injection holes are disposed nearer to a trailing edge than to a leading edge of the second vanes for injecting fuel into compressed air passing through over the second vanes. The trailing edge of each of the second vanes includes a non-planar profile configured to induce turbulence in the compressed air to thereby mix the fuel with the compressed air and reduce the surfaces on which undesirable flame anchoring may occur.
