Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for adding routable subnets to a logical network that connects multiple machines and is implemented by a software defined network (SDN). The method receives an intent-based API that includes a request to add a routable subnet to the logical network. The method defines (i) a VLAN (virtual local area network) tag associated with the routable subnet, (ii) a first identifier associated with a first logical switch to which at least a first machine in the multiple machines that executes a set of containers belonging to the routable subnet attaches, and (iii) a second identifier associated with a second logical switch designated for the routable subnet. The method generates an API call that maps the VLAN tag and the first identifier to the second identifier. The method provides the API call to a management and control cluster of the SDN.

Abstract: Provided are hybrid electrochemical and membrane-based systems for removing silica from water stream to achieve ultra-pure water. The silica concentration of a feed water stream may dictate the most effective and economical variation of disclosed hybrid processes to use. For example, for a feed water stream having a silica concentration of 1-30 ppm, a hybrid system for treating the feed water includes an electrodialysis reversal unit, the electrodialysis reversal unit comprising an inlet stream and a product outlet stream; a reverse osmosis unit, the reverse osmosis unit comprising an inlet stream and a product outlet stream, wherein the inlet stream of the reverse osmosis unit comprises the product outlet stream of the electrodialysis reversal unit; and an electrodeionization unit, the electrodeionization unit comprising an inlet stream and a product outlet stream, wherein the inlet stream of the electrodeionization unit comprises the product outlet stream of the reverse osmosis unit.

Combined online and in-casino tournaments may permit both online and in-casino players at non-dedicated machines to participate in the same tournament asynchronously. Hybrid online and in-casino tournaments may permit a single player to utilize both online and in-casino gaming sessions conducted at non-dedicated machines to participate in the same tournament asynchronously.

Abstract: The invention describes a radar system consisting of a plurality of subcomponents each individually having all components of a radar device which comprise at least transmitters, receivers, a mixer and a phase locked loop, wherein an individual phase code is generated for each transmitter; and transmitters and receivers of all subcomponents of the radar system together provide a virtual overall arrangement according to the Multiple Input Multiple Output method, wherein at least one virtual sub-arrangement of the overall arrangement, provided by a combination of transmitters of a subcomponent and receivers of a subcomponent, has at least one overlapping column or one overlapping row with another virtual sub-arrangement of the overall arrangement, wherein the at least other virtual sub-arrangement is provided by another combination of transmitters of a subcomponent and receivers of a subcomponent.

Abstract: A method of removing an irradiated capsule from inside of a burnable absorber rodlet. The capsule can contain produced Co-60. The method includes inducing an electromagnetic flux into the capsule to magnetically lock the capsule with a capsule removal module. While locked, the capsule can be relatively moved along a longitudinal axis of the rodlet to remove the capsule from the rodlet.

Abstract: Aspects and implementations of the present disclosure address shortcomings of the existing technology by enabling velocity estimation for efficient object identification and tracking in autonomous vehicle (AV) applications, including: obtaining, by a sensing system of the AV, a plurality of return points, each return point having a velocity value and coordinates of a reflecting region that reflects a signal emitted by the sensing system, identifying an association of the velocity values and the coordinates of return points with a motion of a physical object, the motion being a combination of a translational motion and a rotational motion of a rigid body, and causing a driving path of the AV to be determined in view of the motion of the physical object.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for replacing hard-coded certificate pinning with blockchain based certificate pinning. A signing device can obtain a public key from an endpoint device, produce a signature for the public key, and store the public key on a distributed data store, such as a blockchain. A client device can obtain and validate the public keys from the distributed data store and use the public keys to establish a secure connection between the client device and the endpoint device.

Abstract: The present invention concern systems and methods for maintaining diversity in AI and ML environments through the cooperation of various AI and ML systems such that they optimize for social and cultural diversity. The examination of behavior, infrastructure, and governance, mimicking of genetic biodiversity, and application of the foregoing to machine reasoning mitigates the tendency of systems to find optimized or single best solutions. AI and ML environments may thus derive multiple diverse solutions that contribute to richer ecosystems in which human beings may function and thrive.

The device processes information associated with the particular plan item, the plan information, and the transaction information, with a second model, to determine recommendations for the plan, where the information associated with the particular plan item includes information identifying a priority and a preference associated with the particular plan item. The device provides information indicating the recommendations to the user device.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems for authentication management through IMU and radar. The techniques and systems use inertial sensor data from an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and/or radar data to manage authentication for a computing device. By so doing, the techniques conserve power, improve accuracy, or reduce latency relative to many common techniques and systems for computing-device authentication.

Abstract: A boot form for a hockey skate is made of multiple plastic materials having different hardness properties, or different flexural moduli, and is formed via an injection-molding process or another similar process. One or more of the plastic materials may be reinforced with fibers of glass, carbon, aramid, or another stiffening material to strengthen one or more regions of the boot form. For example, pellets of a first plastic material having a flexural modulus of approximately 190 MPa (e.g., a polyamide elastomer block amide) may be injected into a mold to form a softer upper region of the boot form. And pellets of a second plastic having a flexural modulus of approximately 20,000 MPa (e.g., a Nylon 12 with long glass fibers) may be injected into the mold to form a stiffer lower region of the boot form. Additional skate components may then be attached to the boot form.

Abstract: A method of forming a microelectronic device comprises forming a microelectronic device structure. The microelectronic device structure comprises a stack structure comprising insulative structures and additional insulative structures vertically alternating with the insulative structures, a dielectric structure vertically extending partially through the stack structure, and a dielectric material vertically overlying and horizontally extending across the stack structure and the dielectric structure. Portions of at least the dielectric material and the dielectric structure are removed to form a trench vertically overlying and at least partially horizontally overlapping a remaining portion of the dielectric structure. The trench is substantially filled with additional dielectric material. Microelectronic devices, memory devices, and electronic systems are also described.

Abstract: Systems and methods for storing fluid and sensing volume are described. In some embodiments, a system may include a container having an internal volume that is configured to change as fluid enters or exits the container, a first loop disposed on a first side of the container, and a second loop disposed on a second side of the container. A first current traveling through one of the first loop and the second loop may induce a second current in the other of the first loop and the second loop, and a magnitude of the second current may vary based on changes in the internal volume of the container.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for automated software container rehydration and deployment include a server that updates a container image for a software application by modifying layers of the container image and deploying the updated container image as a first container in a passive production environment. For a plurality of traffic volumes, the server: a) increases application traffic directed to the first container to a first traffic volume, b) monitors service level indicators associated with performance of the first container, c) increases the application traffic directed to the first container to a higher traffic volume upon determining that the service level indicators are within a performance threshold, and d) repeats steps b) and c) until the application traffic is increased to a highest traffic volume and the service level indicators are within the performance threshold. The server deploys the updated container image as a second container in an active production environment.

Abstract: A system includes a conductive sampling swab including a non-mesh substrate and a thermal desorber including a clamping assembly configured to releasably hold the conductive sampling swab. The clamping assembly is configured to be electrically connected to a voltage or current source, and the thermal desorber is configured to resistively heat the conductive sampling swab to a temperature sufficient to vaporize a sample material disposed on the conductive sampling swab.

Abstract: System and method for conducting enhanced oil recovery by establishing a plurality of stacked, alternating slugs of gas and liquid travelling downhole into a subterranean well. The system can include a buffer tank, a gas inlet, a gas outlet, and a liquid outlet. The system can further include a pressure control configured to maintain a specified pressure in gas within the buffer tank and a fluid dispensing system in fluid communication with the gas and liquid outlet of the buffer tank.

Abstract: Visual search in an operating system of a computing device can process and provide additional information on the content being provided for display. The computing device can include an operating system that includes a visual search interface that obtains and processes display data associated with content currently being provided for display. The visual search interface can generate display data based on the current content provided for display, process the display data with one or more on-device machine-learned models, and provide additional information to the user. The visual search interface may transmit data associated with the display data to perform additional data processing tasks. Application suggestions may be determined and provided based on the visual search data.

Abstract: Electronic devices described herein are configured to display updated content associated with a first application having a first user interface element disposed in a background area of a display that is obscured by a second user interface element associated with a second application. Responsive to a command from the first application to notify the user of the updated content, the operating system displays at least a portion of a translucent version of the first user interface element with the updated content in the foreground display area, wherein the translucent version of the first user interface element obscures at least a portion of the second user interface element.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods are used for activating a downhole tool, powered by an exothermic reaction, for operation, while deploying a tubing string from a wellbore surface. The tubing string comprises a coupling for enabling pressurized activation of the downhole tool, which comprises a fuel (e.g., thermite) for producing the exothermic reaction. The coupling enables fluid to flow into an interior of the coupling through a first flow passage, during descent of the downhole tool. A stopper is dropped and/or seated to cause the coupling interior to pressurize to an activation pressure, which causes an activator to activate a burn within the downhole tool. Once the downhole tool completes its operation, the coupling interior is further pressurized to burst a burst disc, which opens a second flow passage for fluid to flow from the interior to exterior of the coupling, while downhole tool and coupling are raised to the surface.

Abstract: A system for biologically determined artificial intelligence selection guidance includes a computing device designed and configured to receive at least a biological extraction and an item descriptor from a user, generate, using a classification algorithm and a plurality of past extractions, a user classifier matching user data to user sets, identify, using the classifier and the element user data, a user set identifier matching the user, produce a selection guidance using the user set identifier and the item category identifier, and provide the selection guidance to the user.
