  • Patent number: 10791538
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to cloud-based data synchronization. Two or more devices associated with an account in a cloud can be synched. The account is configured to manage publishing and subscription relationships between these devices such that a first device is able to publish data to the account in the cloud, and a second device is able to subscribe to the data from the account. In some embodiments, the account is configured to determine whether the second device has proper dependencies for subscribing to the data, and to prevent the second device from subscribing to the data upon determining that the second device does not have proper dependencies. However, in some embodiments, proper dependencies are automatically satisfied by downloading and installing a tool configured to properly process the data (e.g., execute applications) on the second device.

  • Patent number: 10791162
Abstract: Application layer throughput (ALT) shaping is provided for a streaming media session is provided. A request for a content segment is received. The receipt time of the request is recorded and the request is forwarded to a content server. A response message is received from the server. The receipt time of the response and a segment size is determined. An ALT for the current segment is determined based on the receipt times of the request and response messages and the segment size. The ALT rate is compared to a target ALT rate required for a desired session PBR. When the ALT rate is higher than the target ALT rate, the content response is held for a time period determined to lower the current ALT rate to the target ALT rate, and then released to the client device. Otherwise, the content response is promptly provided to the client device.

  • Patent number: 10789133
Abstract: A resource allocation system begins with an ordered plan for matching requests to resources that is sorted by priority. The resource allocation system optimizes the plan by determining those requests in the plan that will fail if performed. The resource allocation system removes or defers the determined requests. In addition, when a request that is performed fails, the resource allocation system may remove requests that require similar resources from the plan. Moreover, when resources are released by a request, the resource allocation system may place the resources in a temporary holding area until the resource allocation returns to the top of the ordered plan so that lower priority requests that are lower in the plan do not take resources that are needed by waiting higher priority requests higher in the plan.

  • Patent number: 10790553
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a wiring diagnostic apparatus of embodiments includes a counter, an acquirer, and an abnormality determiner. The counter counts the number of battery modules connected to a plurality of first communication lines to which a plurality of battery modules are connected to form a communication channel for each of the first communication lines. The acquirer acquires identification information for identifying a battery module connected to a corresponding second communication line among battery modules connected to a plurality of second communication lines each forming a communication channel with a first communication line via the second communication line. The abnormality determiner determines an abnormality in a wiring relationship of the first communication line or the second communication line on the basis of the number of battery modules counted by the counter and identification information acquired by the acquirer.

  • Patent number: 10788664
Abstract: An exemplary optical apparatus includes a coherent source of light having a frequency controlled by command signals. One surface of a spiral phase plate resonator receives the light and the light exits from different regions of another surface dependent on the frequency of the light. A fixed reflector is mounted adjacent the another surface to reflect the exiting light at about a 90 degree angle relative to the path of the exiting light. A source of the command signals sends different values of the command signals to the coherent light source to produce corresponding frequencies of the light that determine a particular region from which the light exits the another surface and hence a location on the fixed reflector where the light will be reflected. By changing the frequency of the light, the light is output in a plane by the optical apparatus with no physically moving components.
