  • Patent number: 10788272
Abstract: Systems according to the present disclosure provide one or more surfaces that function as heat or power radiating surfaces for which at least a portion of the radiating surface includes or is composed of “fractal cells” placed sufficiently closed close together to one another so that a surface (plasmonic) wave causes near replication of current present in one fractal cell in an adjacent fractal cell. A fractal of such a fractal cell can be of any suitable fractal shape and may have two or more iterations. The fractal cells may lie on a flat or curved sheet or layer and be composed in layers for wide bandwidth or multibandwidth transmission. The area of a surface and its number of fractals determines the gain relative to a single fractal cell. The boundary edges of the surface may be terminated resistively so as to not degrade the cell performance at the edges.

  • Patent number: 10789577
Abstract: All equipment will fail if not properly maintained so it is imperative to check the state of the equipment, periodically. Accordingly, an assessment system including an equipment analyzer is provided for analyzing the state of equipment. The analyzer includes an interactive interface for arranging a plurality of selectable assessment elements. Each element represents an assessment procedure for evaluating a state of equipment and is linked to a respective process pipeline. A controller activates a tool in the process pipeline for carrying out an assessing task. The controller verifies whether the task is complete based on feedback provided by the user and stores the feedback for generating reports. Whether a tool is activated or a task can be completed is limited to when the user is at the point of evaluation. Accordingly, the assessment system can ensure that evaluations are accurately completed at the time of evaluation.

  • Patent number: 10788358
Abstract: Apparatus and related methods are provided for automatically recalibrating a SAW scale for changing environmental factors. During a period of time when there is no change to a weight applied to the scale, readings of SAW transducers which relate to weight indications and environmental factor indications are taken for two adjacent operating modes of the scale, and two calibrated weight calculations are made utilizing those readings. The difference in calibrated weight calculations is then related to a variable utilized to transform the readings into weights, which is updated, thereby recalibrating the scale.

  • Patent number: 10788344
Abstract: A configuration tool is for a vortex flowmeter having a flowtube, a bluff body positioned in the flowtube for shedding vortices in the fluid, and a pressure sensor configured to obtain a signal indicative of a time-varying fluid pressure having an oscillation associated with the vortices. The configuration tool includes a processor that determines a type of fluid flowing through the flowtube based on the amplitude of the oscillation. The processor sets a fluid-type setting of the vortex meter to match the determined type of fluid. An alarming system for a control system including such a flowmeter includes a processor that assesses a density of a fluid flowing through the flowtube based on the amplitude and compares the assessed density to a fluid density configuration setting. The processor activates an alarm if the difference between the assessed density and the fluid density configuration setting exceeds a threshold.

  • Patent number: 10786465
Abstract: A composition comprising a nanoparticle, wherein the nanoparticle comprises a polymer/copolymer conjugated to a moiety is disclosed. A method of forming a nanostructure includes stirring poly(lactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) and 11-Ethyl-3-(dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDC) in CH2Cl2 to create a PLGA mixture, n-boc-ethyelenediamine and N,N-Diisopropylethylamine (DIEA) are added to the PLGA mixture to create a reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is then precipitated in cold diethyl ether to form a purified polymer, which is then dried. The dried and purified polymer is then reconstituted in CH2Cl2:TFA solution and stirred under inert conditions. The product of the reconstituting step is evaporated to form a clear viscous residue that is dissolved in CH2Cl2 and then precipitated in cold ether to form a polymer. These functional polymers can encapsulate a variety of bioactives forming nanosystems improving the performance of bioactives.

  • Patent number: 10789405
Abstract: An event-driven simulation system is provided. The simulation system classifies events into bypass-events and perform-events. The simulation system performs simulation by executing instructions based on the perform-events and skips simulation for the bypass-events. The simulation system produces partial simulation result data based events that are actually simulated but not the events that are skipped. A post processor is provided to generate the missing simulation result data for the bypass-events and to merge the bypass-event with the partial simulation result to generate a complete simulation result.
