  • Patent number: 10697966
Abstract: This invention provides methods and kits for improved diagnosis of medically relevant conditions by solution based biochemical testing procedures performed in solutions of test samples. The invention provides a method to substitute the cell based morphological information contained within the cytological and/or histological data of the test sample by molecular information obtainable from the solution, wherein the original test sample is dissolved and thus enables for accurate and reproducible assessment of medically relevant diagnosis from dissolved test samples. The method according to the invention comprises the steps of determining the levels of one or more disease markers associated with the condition to be diagnosed, determining the level of one or more normalization markers suitable to substitute the information related to morphological aspects of the sample, comparing and/or combining the data of the disease and normalization markers, and assessing diagnosis of a medically relevant condition.

  • Patent number: 10695992
Abstract: Thermoplastic 3D objects are printed directly onto permeable materials with a high strength bond. The 3D object can be attached to the permeable material at one side where the bottom layer of the 3D object can be attached to the permeable material or alternatively, at an internal layer where portions of the 3D object are on opposite sides of the permeable material. In order to improve the adhesion of the 3D object to the permeable material, the bonding layer of the liquid thermoplastic material that is printed directly onto the permeable material can be deposited at modified 3D printer settings that can include a hotter than normal material deposition temperature. Additional build layers of the liquid thermoplastic material are printed on the bonding layer to complete the 3D objects.

  • Patent number: 10698703
Abstract: Starting execution of a mobile application on a mobile device causes the mobile application to invoke an initialization method that i) creates a substitute application class loader, and ii) replaces a default application class loader for the mobile application with the substitute application class loader. The substitute application class loader processes a request for a requested object class defined by the mobile application by returning, instead of the requested object class, an alternate object class that is different from the requested object class and that is defined by mobile application management logic also executing on the mobile device. Continued execution of the mobile application on the mobile device includes performing at least one mobile application management action using the alternate object class returned by the substitute application class loader.

The method includes i) providing the digital image to be printed on the printing substrate; ii) receiving positioning coordinates of the substrate relative to a first predefined reference; and iii) rotating the image relative to its centre as a function of the positioning coordinates, thus determining a rotated image. According to one aspect, the rotation is performed by means of a technique of mapping between pixels of the rotated image and pixels of the digital image, and calculating a matrix of correspondences between the pixels of the rotated image and the pixels of the digital image. According to another aspect, the matrix is configured to indicate how many pixels of the rotated image correspond to pixels of the digital image.

  • Patent number: 10696727
Abstract: The invention provides a method of modulating electrophysiological activity of an excitable cell. The method involves causing exogenous expression of a glycine receptor (GlyR) protein in an excitable cell of a subject. Thereafter, the excitable cell is exposed to an allosteric modulator of the GlyR protein. Modulation of the exogenous GlyR protein (an ion channel) in response to the allosteric modulator modulates the electrophy-stological activity of the excitable cell. The method can be used to control pain in a subject. The invention further provides a replication-defective HSV vector comprising an expression cassette encoding a GlyR protein, stocks and pharmaceutical compositions containing such vectors, and a transgenic animal.
