Publication number: 20130086580Abstract: Migration of a pool of virtual machines to a target physical machine. The virtual machines were all provisioned into an initial state using a master image. Thereafter, changes to the state were reflected in corresponding user delta collections for each of the virtual machines. In preparation for the migration to the target physical machine, a pool is allocated on the target machine. The target pool is associated with the same master image as the source pool. The virtual machines are provisioned within the target pool based on the master image. The virtual machines in the target pool are then connected to the corresponding user delta collection, allowing the virtual machines to continue in the same state in the target machine as when they operated in while last operating in the source machine. The target machine may be as master service provider.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2011Publication date: April 4, 2013Applicant: V3 SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: Harold C. Simonsen, Ashton R. Patent number: 8408073Abstract: A microfluidic device and sensing method that utilize a resonating tube configured to have sufficient sensitivity to be capable of sensing the volume of a gas present as bubbles in a liquid or the flow rate and/or density of a gas or gas mixture flowing through the tube. The tube has a freestanding tube portion supported above a surface of a substrate so as to be capable of vibrating in a plane normal to the surface of the substrate. As a gas-containing fluid flows through an internal passage of the tube, a drive signal vibrates the freestanding tube portion at a resonant frequency thereof. Coriolis-induced deflections of the freestanding tube portion are sensed relative to the substrate to produce an output corresponding to the sensed deflections, and the drive signal and/or the output are assessed to determine the volume, density and/or flow rate of the gas of the gas-containing fluid.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2011Date of Patent: April 2, 2013Assignee: Integrated Sensing Systems Inc.Inventors: Douglas Ray Sparks, Richard Thayre Smith, Nader Najafi

Patent number: 8408366Abstract: The bottom surface of a seal groove provided in a cylinder bore has a first slant portion and a second slant portion. A transition point between the first slant portion and the second slant portion is located closer to the opening of the cylinder bore than the center in the cylinder bore axial direction of the seal groove. A gap is formed between the outer peripheral surface of a piston seal member and the bottom surface of the seal groove, and the surface pressure applied to the bottom surface of the seal groove from the piston seal member is higher at the cylinder-bottom-side end of the piston seal member than at the cylinder-opening-side end thereof. Thus, it is possible to suppress the movement of the piston toward the cylinder bore bottom due to thermal expansion of the piston seal member.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2011Date of Patent: April 2, 2013Assignee: Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Kimiyasu Kono, Keisuke Nanri
