  • Patent number: 7813128
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of cooling a static electronic power converter device including at least one electrical circuit including an assembly of active components and of passive components mounted in a closed radiator housing from which only the inlet and the outlet of the circuit communicate with the outside of the housing, in which the distribution of the heat energy given off by the active and passive components is made uniform throughout the inside volume of the housing, and the heat energy is transferred from the radiator housing by forced convection in substantially uniform manner over the entire inside surface of the walls of the housing by causing at least one fluid contained inside the leaktight housing to circulate in a closed circuit. The invention also provides a static electronic power converter device enabling the method to be implemented.

  • Patent number: 7814556
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for securing execution of untrusted applications. These mechanisms and methods for securing execution of untrusted applications can enable embodiments to provide a “sandbox” environment in which applications that are less than trusted may execute. The ability of embodiments to provide such a protected environment for executing these untrusted applications can enable systems designers and system programmers to provide additional applications from third parties to users without being overly concerned about system security issues.

  • Patent number: 7810716
Abstract: A detector for a deposit accepting apparatus of an automated banking machine or for another sheeting handling system includes an ultrasonic transmitter driven by a driving signal operative to cause the ultrasonic transmitter to transmit an ultrasonic sound signal through a sheet pathway of the detector. The detector also includes an ultrasonic receiver operative to generate a receiver signal responsive to the ultrasonic sound signal. The detector further includes first and second correlation filters. The first and second correlation filters are operative to generate first and second outputs responsive to the receiver signal. At least one processor is operative responsive to the first and second outputs of the correlation filters to determine information associated with changes in phase of the ultrasonic sound signal and to distinguish between single and multiple sheets in the pathway responsive to the information associated with changes in phase.

  • Patent number: 7814511
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention is a t-commerce platform, which is linked to the content from a video signal that the user is currently watching. At some point during the broadcast of the content, a close-up of the product is shown. Simultaneous with this, a VBI-based trigger is added to the video signal of the broadcast. This trigger causes the television, a set-top box, or a similar device to capture in a memory, a “freeze-frame” of the image being shown. This action is transparent to the user while the video being displayed on the television is continuing normally. If the user chooses to perform an interactive “buy” transaction the saved image data is used as part of the interactive screen display.

  • Patent number: 7814226
Abstract: A system and method for supporting Service Networks in a SOA environment. In accordance with an embodiment, the principles governing the topology of computer networks can be similarly applied to the service space—from small federated Service Segments (or sub-domains), to large public federated Service Domains. At the heart of the Service Network are one or more Service Routers, that are themselves responsible for transparently bridging between federated Service Segments. The Service Routers determine where services reside in the Service Network and, based on routing information gathered through interaction with other Service Routers, Network Routers and other mechanisms, deliver service requests, using optimal routes, from a source Service Segment to the target Service Segment. Working in concert with the Service Router, an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) can abstract the location of services, and hide the existence of the Service Network from service requestors.

  • Patent number: 7814224
Abstract: An information processor disclosed herein prevents adverse impacts on higher priority processing due to extremely frequent receive processing when inbound traffic from a network is over-traffic state (under a DoS attack). The information processor attached to a network collects information about traffic state and, if it is determined that over-traffic state is present, deactivates the communication processing function without passing an interrupt request due to communication to the data processing block. In this state, the information processor continues to collect information about traffic state and, when it is determined that over-traffic state has terminated, starts to transfer an interrupt request to the data processing block and makes the communication processing function recover.

  • Patent number: 7814223
Abstract: A transmit packet generated by a CPU 1 is held in a buffer 100a (100b). From among packets received from Ethernet 820a (820b), a packet, a destination of which is a communication device 800, is held in the buffer 100a (100b). A packet which should be transmitted is transmitted from a transfer judging circuit 200 to Ethernet 820a or 820b through a MAC unit 300a or 300b. If a transfer judging circuit 200 judges a packet from the Ethernet 820a to be a packet, a destination of which is another communication device, with reference to a destination MAC address, this packet is transferred to the Ethernet 820b through MAC 300b. If a usage rate of a transferring FIFO buffer 130a (130b) exceeds a threshold value in the process of transmitting a packet held in a transmitting FIFO buffer 120a (130b) on a priority basis, the priority order of a transfer packet is made higher than that of a transmit packet so that the transfer packet is transferred to the Ethernet 820a or 820b in preference to the transmit packet.

  • Patent number: 7812578
Abstract: A DC-DC converter includes a series circuit of a main switch and a choke coil and an output capacitor connected to one end of the series circuit and outputs a DC voltage from the one end of the series circuit. A first MOS transistor is connected in parallel to the series circuit and a second MOS transistor is connected in parallel to the output capacitor. A control circuit controls the gate voltages of the first MOS transistor and/or the second MOS transistor so that the first MOS transistor and/or the second MOS transistor outputs a changed target output voltage, whereby the output voltage is made equal to the target voltage at high speed.

  • Patent number: 7813943
Abstract: A health care claim payment system and method receives a claim for a health care service provided to a participant in a benefits plan. The claim is received by a payment services system, and a portion of the claim is payable by the participant. The payment services system remits the portion of the claim payable by the participant on behalf of the participant so that payment can be remitted to the provider in a single payment and accepts risk of delinquency and/or non-payment by the participant. In one example, the health care provider receives payment for the participant portion and employer portion of the claim within 30 days of issuing a health care service.
