Abstract: A method of synchronization control in a synchronization gateway equipment is proposed. The method includes: receiving first metadata relating to a first audiovisual content, the metadata having an audiovisual content identifier, a first TV broadcast channel identifier, and time-and-date information; obtaining an identifier of a user interactivity element from the audiovisual content identifier; obtaining time-and-date information for presentation of a user interactivity element from the received time-and-date information; and transmitting, in synchronized manner with the time-and-date information for presentation of the interactivity element, a request for presentation of the user interactivity element corresponding to the identifier of the user interactivity element, the request including the identifier of the user interactivity element.

Abstract: A method is provided for coding a current image that has previously been partitioned into blocks. The method includes, for a current block that is to be coded: partitioning the current block at least once into a plurality of subblocks; and representing) the partitioning of current block in the form of a first digital information sequence. The coding method further includes predicting the partitioning of the current block relative to the partitioning of a block that has already been coded and then decoded and that is represented in the form of a second digital information sequence, by comparing the first and second sequences with each other or by comparing the corresponding partitionings with each other, and then by determining residual digital information representative of the comparison in application of a predetermined comparison criterion; and encoding the residual digital information as determined.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for decoding a current view belonging to a previously coded multi-view image. The method includes: determining, in a set of views belonging to the multi-view image or to another multi-view image, a pathway of views that are necessary for the decoding of the current view, the pathway comprising at least one as yet undecoded view; decoding the at least one view not yet decoded; and decoding the current view on the basis of a set of coded data representative of at least one difference between the current view and another view of the multi-view image or of another multi-view image, and of the at least one decoded view.

Abstract: A uterine manipulator includes: a main body coupled at one end thereof to a handle and extending in one direction to be inserted into the vagina; a mount coupled to the other end of the main body and having a guide hole formed therethrough in a longitudinal direction of the main body; a support disposed on the mount to support the uterine cervix; a slider inserted into the guide hole to be coupled at one end thereof to the main body and extending in one direction to be inserted into the uterine corpus; an adjuster coupled to both the one end of the slider and the main body; and a head disposed at the other end of the slider.

Abstract: A terminal is described, along with a method for data processing carried out by the terminal, for communication via a plurality of interfaces of the terminal. The terminal can include a first interface for communication via a radiofrequency link, and a second interface for communication via a short-range link, where the second interface can be polluted by the radiofrequency link used by the first interface. The terminal can be configured to activate the first interface, deactivate the first interface and initiate a time-out during which the terminal can activate a third interface for communication via an optical link, and then activate the second interface.

Abstract: A method of playback on a terminal of a plurality of messages exchanged by way of a communication network between the terminal and a conversational agent. The method includes obtaining an identifier of the conversational agent; obtaining, as a function of the identifier obtained, at least one playback rule for the messages exchanged; and implementing the at least one playback rule when a message is sent or received.

Abstract: A method for activating a first terminal from a second terminal, the first terminal and the second terminal being connected via a communication network. The method includes associating the first terminal with the second terminal, detecting an action on an input peripheral device associated with the second terminal, and transmitting a notification to the first terminal, the notification having at least one command suitable for authorizing unlocking of the first terminal.

Abstract: A method of registering a mobile terminal in a mobile communication network via a base station, an access link between the base station and the core of the network being switched from a normal mode of operation to a degraded mode of operation. The method is implemented by a local mobility management entity and includes: receiving an attachment request, retransmitted by the base station and originating from the mobile terminal, the request including an identifier of the mobile terminal, dispatching, to an agent mobility management item, a request for security information specific to the mobile terminal, the request including the identifier of the mobile terminal, receiving a response to the request for security information, the response including security information specific to the mobile terminal, the security information originating from a server of subscribers of the network, and authenticating the terminal by using the security information received.

Abstract: A method for caching a piece of content in a content distribution network of a first network, a browser module running on a user terminal and allowing access to content by using encrypted sessions, the browser module being associated with a proxy server of a second network interconnected with the first network, the proxy server controlling a current session status between the browser module and a content provider. The method includes: the browser module sending a request relating to the content to the content provider; the proxy server obtaining a piece of information relating to the request; the browser module receiving the requested content; and the proxy server commanding the browser module to cache the content in the content distribution network.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for inputting at least one character by way of a user interface of an electronic device. The method includes: detecting a scrolling command performed by way of a command input element; displaying a current character in a display area by scrolling through a current set of characters, triggered by the detection of the scrolling command; detecting a selection of the current character; determining a new restricted set of characters on the basis of the current set of characters, the new set including the selected character and a selection of characters surrounding the selected character and becoming the current set of characters for a following iteration of the display of the scrolling of characters; and detecting a confirmation of the current character by way of the command input element, putting an end to the iterations.

Abstract: A method for controlling a session for providing a certain service, at least one data stream being associated with the session. The method includes: obtaining a session control policy from a session control message, or generating such a policy as a function of a type of the service, which session control policy is to be implemented in the event of at least one data stream being inactive, i.e. in the event of a data stream associated with the session not being set up, or being released prematurely; sending the session control policy in a session control message to a control entity in charge of implementing the session control policy; and on detecting inactivity of at least one data stream, implementing the session control policy.

Abstract: A transmission control protocol communications method between a first device and a second device. The method includes the following acts: a) the first device, or a proxy connected to the first device, collects information about existence of network address translators and/or firewalls, if any, placed in series on at least one possible communications path between the first device and the second device and known to the first device or to the proxy connected to the first device; b) the first device or the proxy creates an entry in at least one such network address translator and/or firewall, the entry including at least one IP address and/or at least one port number of the first device; and c) the first device or the proxy transmits to the second device the at least one IP address and/or the at least one port number in a TCP option.

Abstract: A method for adapting the operation of an apparatus connected to a network deployed in an environment, including the steps of: collecting data relating to the environment from a plurality of sources; identifying usual environmental situations from an analysis of the collected data; detecting a deviation from at least one identified usual situation; and sending a control to the apparatus for adapting the operation thereof to the detected deviation.

Abstract: A method of notification by an application server of an inability to deliver a message sent by a first terminal destined for a second terminal. The message is transmitted from the first terminal to the second terminal by way of the application server. The application server is configured to store at least one message with a view to a subsequent retransmission when the recipient is not reachable. The method includes: obtaining a message intended for the second terminal, detecting that the second terminal is not reachable, determining an identifier of the sender of the message obtained and of the identifier of the message obtained, and transmitting a notification message to the sender of the message. The message includes at least the identifier of the message obtained and an indication according to which the message obtained has not been delivered.

Abstract: A method is provided for coding at least one current image. The method includes: determining at least one parameter of a predetermining function, the function being able to transform a first subset of a set of previously decoded reference images into an approximation of a second subset of images of the set of reference images; applying the function according to the parameter determined to a third subset of the set of reference images, the third subset being different from the first subset, so as to obtain another set of previously decoded reference images; and coding the current image on the basis of the obtained set of reference images.

Abstract: A technique for administrating a subscription to an operator. This subscription allows access to a communication network for a security module associated with a user device. A contact address of a server configured to prepare subscription management data is obtained on the basis of an access profile for the network installed in the security module. The security module sends a request for execution of an act of administration in conjunction with this subscription. The request is addressed to the contact address of the server and comprises a datum allowing the server to forward the request to a control server. Once the act of administration has been executed, the user device receives a confirmation of execution of this act of administration originating from the control server.

Abstract: A device for processing a signaling message related to a communication service provided to a client device via a communication network. When the client device is connected via an access network operating in circuit mode, the device translates a first signaling message for the circuit mode into a second signaling message suitable for being carried over the access network operating in packet mode, and vice versa. When the client device is connected via the access network operating in packet mode, the processing device receives from the client device a third signaling message suitable for being carried over the access network operating in packet mode and sends the third signaling message to a server of the communication network subsystem, and vice versa, and replaces in the received third signaling message a source address, including an address of the client device, with an address of the processing device.

Abstract: A method of maintaining transport address associations in a transport address translation entity connected in series between a first device and a second device is disclosed. The first device can use a first transport protocol to send a first message to cause the transport address translation entity to make a first association of a first public address with a first private address. On receiving a response to the first message from the second device, the first device can use a second transport protocol to send a second message to cause the transport address translation entity to make a second association of a second private address with a second public address and with the second transport protocol. The second message can contain correspondence information that is also contained in the first message and/or in the response to the first message.

Abstract: Authentication problems often occur when a user of a terminal visits a communications network while roaming. A method is therefore provided for authorizing an authenticated user of a communications terminal. The terminal is configured to connect to a packet-switching network via an access gateway over a current network to which the terminal is connected. The method is implemented by a current authentication server over the current network and includes: receipt of a user authorization request from the access gateway, including an identifier of the user; transmission of a user authorization response to the access gateway, including parameters for authorizing the user, and a unique identifier of an authentication server that authenticated the user.

Abstract: A residential gateway, which acts, after detecting a fault including at least one service to which the gateway normally gives access not being accessible or the quality of at least one service to which it normally gives access being degraded: to search for at least one IP route, referred to as an “emergency route”, to a destination for data associated with the service, and, if the gateway finds such an emergency route, using it to provide the service. The residential gateway is applicable to domestic gateways and to business gateways.
