  • Patent number: 4755338
Abstract: Method and slide-casting machine for the casting of hollow precast units of concrete by means of slide-casting. Concrete mix is extruded onto a base by using one or several shaping members that form a cavity and the mix is compacted by moving the shaping members. The outer face of the shaping members is provided with a projection or projections, or a projection or projections are formed at the outer face of the shaping members from time to time. The locations of the projections are changed to the longitudinal axis of the shaping members. Thereby the shaping members produce forces compressing the mix in the surrounding mix, i.e. forces that compact the concrete. It is possible to use shaping members in which the shape of the mantle portion can be changed so that the distances of the different points at the outer face of the shaping member from the longitudinal axis of the shaping member vary.

  • Patent number: 4718839
Abstract: A method of and a casting bed for producing a concrete product, especially an endless concrete blank prestressed in at least two directions. In order to enable a prestressing wire to be arranged in position and tightened in a simpler manner, at least one prestressing wire is passed in a zigzag-like manner crosswise between at least two fixed sides of a casting bed to form a wire net and the wire net is tightened from a third side of the casting bed in the direction of both first-mentioned sides so that the wire net is stretched in two directions by means of a traction in one direction. Finally, concrete is fed on the bed to form a prestressed concrete blank. An apparatus intended for carrying out the method comprises a weaving device for stretching the prestressing wires continuously and in a zigzag-like manner crosswise between two parallel sides of the casting bed and for tightening of the wires in the longitudinal direction of the casting bed.

  • Patent number: 4700613
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic motor, which comprises a surrounding frame casing; an internal cylinder block with radially arranged cylinders and a stationary axle of the hydraulic motor attached thereto; pistons reciprocating in the cylinders and bearing the inner surface of the frame casing, which surface is formed as a running surface guiding the movement of the pistons; a fluid distributor mounted around the axle to rotate together with the frame casing, for the distribution of the hydraulic fluid into cylinder chambers and away therefrom via openings provided in the cylinder block; and feed and exhaust channels for the hydraulic fluid. The object of the invention is to improve such a hydraulic motor by compensating, without complicated balancing elements, the force caused by the pressurized hydraulic fluid and separating the fluid distributor and the cylinder block.

  • Patent number: 4641466
Abstract: The invention relates to a window having a channel between its glasses, through which channel circulation and/or fresh air is brought into a room. The object is to provide a new window which can function as the only heating element of the room. This object is achieved by providing the glass facing the room with an electrically conductive layer, whereby the said glass functions as an electric heating element, and by providing the inwards facing surface of the outer glass with a coating reflecting the heat radiating outwards from the heating element almost entirely back into the room. To make the recovery of heat more effective, a fan with actuating and regulating devices is preferably arranged in the window structure.

  • Patent number: 4640074
Abstract: A concrete building unit of a sandwich structure, comprising two concrete slabs (1, 2) positioned in parallel at a distance from each other and an insulating layer (3) filling the space between the concrete slabs. Wire trusses (5) are provided between the slabs and are cast in the concrete slabs at the opposite longitudinal edges of the trusses. In order to simplify the assembly of the insulating layer, a truss wire (6) of at least one wire truss (5) is stitched similarly to a sewing thread through an insulating material layer (7) in such a manner that a continuous wire forms loops (6a) protruding from two opposite surfaces of the layer. In a truss element (4) intended for such a building unit, the truss wire (6) is sewn into a beamlike insulating material layer (7) having a rectangular cross-section.

  • Patent number: 4546132
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of making concrete used in hydrotechnical structures weather-resistant as regards the freezing of water absorbed into the pores of the concrete. The problem in this connection consists of the expansion of freezing water and the consequent state of tension in the concrete. According to the invention, a small amount of micro-sized rubber powder is mixed with the concrete mix, the rubber particles forming even-surfaced, closed buffers into which the water expanding when it freezes can expand without producing states of tension in the concrete. The rubber particles are ground from the rubber parts of used automobile tires.

  • Patent number: 4514816
Abstract: Randomly distributed objects of piece goods in a state of translatory movement are identified and classified on the basis of a physical property thereof. The travel path of the piece goods is observed with a detector scanning the path transversally and indicating the wanted physical property, said detector generating an electric signal proportional to the observed physical quantity at each spot of the scanning line, within the resolution capacity of the detector. Thereupon, the electric signals are treated continuously in real time and converted into binary key number groups belonging individually to each particular object in the scanning line. The key number groups are processed during the scanning recursively in classifying units nominated for each particular object during its passage past the detector, and the classification is carried out on the basis of these key number groups.
