  • Patent number: 10392814
Abstract: An underlayment for use between a veneer material and a foundation surface includes a base layer and a series of individual supports extending upwardly from the base layer and configured to create voids in a layer of bonding material used to adhere the veneer material to the underlayment. Each of the individual supports includes an outer wall extending upwardly from the base layer and terminating at an upper lip, the outer wall extending around a perimeter of each of the supports. A protrusion extends from one of the upper lip or the outer wall to form an overhang beneath which a heating element is fitted. An internal wall extends downwardly and inwardly from the upper lip to at least partially define a cavity at least partially circumscribed by the outer wall within each of the individual supports. • Patent number: 10383447
Abstract: A reversible adjustable lumbar support and headrest tilt mechanism is provided for installation on a chair. A side bracket is coupled to each side of the back frame, and a back bracket is pivotably coupled to each side bracket. An actuator is pivotably coupled to the back frame that has an extendable and retractable shaft. In a first orientation, with the actuator shaft extending toward the upper end of the back frame, a headrest back insert is couple-able to and between the back brackets, such that extension and retraction of the actuator shaft rotates the headrest back insert. In a second orientation, with the actuator shaft extending toward the lower end of the back frame, a lumbar push bar is couple-able to and between the back brackets, such that extension and retraction of the actuator shaft rotates the lumbar push bar.

  • Patent number: 10386206
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for active-mirroring, capacitive monitoring of furniture are provided. More particularly, the invention relates to an active mirroring system for a furniture item that monitors a first sensor type over a first frequency, while applying an inverse first frequency to at least one other sensor type coupled to the same furniture item. As such, the additional sensor types receiving the inverse sampling frequency may be dampened and/or cancelled, thereby preventing interference during monitoring of the first sensor type. In further aspects, a monitoring and mirroring cycle is provided, for sequentially monitoring and mirroring capacitive sensing mechanisms on different portions of a common furniture item.

  • Patent number: 10390071
Abstract: A system includes an interface unit to receive a request, from a media client, to obtain a segment of media content at an ABR representation, and a transcoding unit. The transcoding unit includes a scalable decoder, hint stream decoder, and re-encoder. The scalable decoder receives and decodes a set of two or more layers of a scalable coded representation corresponding to the requested segment of media content at the requested ABR representation to provide a set of media frames and scalable stream information for the segment. The hint stream decoder receives and decodes a hint stream corresponding to the requested segment of media content at the requested ABR representation and the scalable stream information to provide transcoding hints for the segment. The re-encoder re-encodes the set of media frames using the transcoding hints to provide an encoded bit stream corresponding to the requested segment of media content.

  • Patent number: 10382660
Abstract: In some examples, a computing system may include a computing device, a display device, and a camera. The computing device includes a processor and a memory. The display device may be (1) separate from and electronically connected to the computing device or (2) integrated into the computing device. A camera may be connected to the computing device. The camera may be (1) a standalone device or (2) integrated into the display device. The camera may include a lens, a sensor, and a light source. For example, the light source may be a light emitting diode (LED) or an organic LED (OLED). Providing power to the light source causes the light source to emit an amount of light sufficient to saturate the imaging sensor such that if the camera is hijacked by a third party, the image data from the saturated sensor is distorted and unusable.
