Abstract: A tissue fixation system is provided for dynamic and rigid fixation of tissue. A fastener connected with an elongate fastening member, such as a cable, wire, suture, rod, or tube, is moved through a passage between opposite sides of tissue. A medical device is used to secure the fastener to the elongate fastening member. The medical device includes a tensioning mechanism for tensioning the elongate fastening member. As crimping mechanism is used to secure the fastener to the elongated member, where a cutting mechanism cut the excess portion of the elongated member.

Abstract: An enhanced map information processing unit 14 of a driving assistance device 1 acquires from a determination unit 13 information on surroundings of a vehicle which is needed to perform autonomous driving, and acquires from a server device 2 environment information on surroundings of a route on which autonomous driving is performed. On the basis of the acquired environment information, the enhanced map information processing unit 14 extracts, as an autonomous driving unsuitable location Pn, a location at which the accuracy of the acquirement of the sensor unit 12 is predicted not to satisfy a standard for acquiring the information on the surroundings of the vehicle needed to perform autonomous driving. An informing unit 18 alerts the extracted autonomous driving unsuitable location Pn to a user.

Abstract: A chair mechanism is provided for a seating unit that has a footrest, a seat, and a back. The mechanism is adapted to move the seating unit from a closed position with the footrest stowed beneath the seat, the seat in a generally horizontal orientation, and the back in an upright position, to an extended position with the footrest extended, the seat inclined from back-to-front, and the back in a reclined position.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and processes to embed forensic and triage data in memory dumps. Memory dump data being written to kernel memory of a computing system by a firmware interface is detected. An operating mode of an operating system executing on the computing system is activated. Hardware forensic data is generated by reading local computer bus data, firmware event log data, and memory mapped input/output (I/O) data associated with the computing system. The hardware forensic data is then stored in a memory location of the kernel memory, causing the hardware forensic data to be included in the memory dump data being written to kernel memory.

Abstract: A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of springs held together with tabs. Longitudinal seams joining overlapping tabs extend generally the same direction as the strings of springs. Pockets are formed along a string of springs by aligned separating seams. At least one spring is positioned in each pocket. Each separating seam joins opposed plies of the string and keeps the spring in its pocket. Ends of aligned separating seams are spaced from each other, thereby improving airflow between pockets.

Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device may include a first display device and a second display device. An embedded controller may determine a first perceived brightness of the first display based on a first current and a first amount of ambient light associated with the first display device, determine a second perceived brightness of the second display device based on a second current and a second amount of ambient light associated with the second display device, and determine a ratio of the first perceived brightness to the second perceived brightness. The embedded controller may modify, based at least in part on the ratio, the second current to create a second modified amount of current associated with the second display device that modifies the second perceived brightness of the second display device to create a modified second perceived brightness of the second display device.
Abstract: A device, system, and method for integration of disparate systems uses multi-UID RFID encoding whereby all systems have a place to store their unique identifier without having to have knowledge of the other systems' requirements while at the same time allowing each system to communicate with the other systems by utilizing the other systems' unique identifier. Modules comprise an NFC Reader 405; an NFC Reader Manager 410; an NFC Reader Read Thread 415; a Tag module 420; a Tag Message 425; and a Tag Update Process 430.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring remotely located objects with a system including at least one master data collection unit, remote sensor units, and a central data collection server are described. The master unit is configured to monitor any object, mobile or stationary, including monitoring multiple remote sensor units associated with the monitored objects. The master unit may be in a fixed location or attached to a mobile object. The master unit is configured for monitoring objects that enter and leave an area. The master unit may act as a parent controller for one or more child devices including remote sensors or monitors of measurable conditions including environmental conditions, substance identification, product identification, and/or biometric identification. The master unit may discover remote sensor units as they enter or leave the area where the master unit is located. The master unit can be remotely reprogrammed such as with authenticated instructions.

Abstract: Example implementations relate to print fluid selection. For example, a system for print fluid detection may include a cloud-based printing platform coupled to a plurality of printing devices. A print fluid selection module may be implemented in the cloud-based printing platform. The print fluid selection module may determine a type of document to be printed by a printing device among the plurality of printing devices, and select a print fluid setting among a plurality of print fluid settings for printing the document, based on the determined document type. The printing fluid selection may be enabled only for printing devices that include authentic components, as verified by a printing supply verification module.

Abstract: An air breather system to dehydrate atmospheric air entering an oil tank includes first and second breathers, first and second desiccator tanks, a control unit, a ventilation fan, four conduits, plurality of valves, moisture absorbent, two heating elements, and two moisture sensors. The first and second breathers work one at a time. The atmospheric air entering the first breather is dehydrated by moisture absorbent present in first desiccator tank and is released to the oil tank. When the moisture absorbent of the first breather absorbs moisture to its full capacity, it is regenerated, and the second breather starts functioning. During regeneration, moisture absorbent is heated by the heating element. Hot air along with the vapours of moisture absorbed by the absorbent generated during regeneration process is sucked by the ventilation fan and released out of the air breather system, without allowing moisture in the hot air to condense.
Abstract: A ventilation system comprising a plenum below the lower shelf of a cabinet combined with ductwork and special fan applications designed to evacuate air from the interior to the exterior of a building. The system is designed to eliminate issues normally encountered when retrofitting a ventilation system into an existing building.
