Abstract: Compounds which contain peroxide linkages and the radical of a hindered amine light stabilizer group are provided. These compounds function as polymerization initiators which cause the hindered amine stabilizer to be chemically bound to the polymer.
Abstract: A residual analyzer assembly including an analyzer probe, typically of the amperometric type having a stable zero calibration, and a working fluid sampler system having means for backflushing the flow so as to periodically cleanse the system. The residual analyzer probe having two bare electrodes operating as a working electrode and a counter electrode. The working electrode being formed in a double spiral helix with the counter electrode being formed in an outer peripheral ring closely adjacent the working electrode. The probe also including a third electrode within an electrolytic solution and positioned behind a membrane located directly behind the working electrode. The three electrode system operated utilizing a potentiostat type circuit. The working fluid sampler system adapted to sample a portion of the working fluid flow and maintain a constant pressure into a flow block. A controlled amount of reagent being added for proper residual analyzation of the sample.
Abstract: A process is provided for converting waste distillation bottoms containing t-alkylphenols with substantial unknown constituents to useable para-t-alkylphenols. The process comprises heating the waste distillation bottoms with phenol and an acid catalyst to effect transalkylation. The waste distillation bottoms typically result from the production of para-t-alkylphenol and/or 2,4-di-t-alkylphenol.
Abstract: An improved flow-limiting fluid refill valve for use with a fluid-actuated pump having a fluid chamber comprises a valve housing, fluid inlet means in communication with a source of hydraulic fluid and fluid outlet means in fluid communication with the fluid chamber of the pump. A first valve within the valve housing is provided between the fluid inlet means and the fluid outlet means for permitting a flow of fluid from the fluid source to the fluid chamber when the suction pressure within the fluid chamber exceeds the first predetermined pressure limit indicating that the fluid within the fluid chamber has been depleted below a predetermined fluid limit. The improvement comprises a second valve within the valve housing for preventing the flow of fluid from the fluid source to the fluid chamber when the suction pressure within the fluid chamber exceeds a second predetermined pressure limit greater than the first predetermined pressure limit and indicating abnormal operation of the pump.
Abstract: Compounds such as 6-[3-(cyclopropylamino)-2-hydroxypropoxy]aurone hydrochloride showing inhibitory activity against LTC.sub.4 -induced contraction of guinea pig ileum are useful as inhibitors of allergic reactions.
Abstract: A composition, useful for dissolving sulfur, which comprises a major amount of a disulfide or polysulfide and a catalyst comprising one or more polyalkyleneoxyamines or polyamines, and methods for using the composition in a system to prevent sulfur-plugging, are disclosed.

Abstract: An improved process is provided for preparing stable low viscosity polymer-polyols containing less than about 100 ppm residual monomers by using a monoperoxycarbonate initiator in combination with at least one initiator selected from diperoxyketals and peroxyesters, as chaser catalysts, at or near the end of the polymerization. The polymer-polyols prepared by the instant invention can be used to prepare high resiliency (load bearing) polyurethane foams.
Abstract: Fluorinated polymer based compositions which include aluminum silicates and electrical and fiber optic cable constructions made from such compositions have improved low smoke and flame retardant properties.
Abstract: .alpha.-Substituted ketonitrone derivatives containing substitutents selected from hydrogen, phenyl, substituted phenyl, naphythyl, furan, thiopen, imidazolylmethyl and triazolylmethyl are useful as intermediates for the preparation of biologically active isoxazolidine compounds.
Abstract: Phenolic antioxidant hydrazides are provided which are useful to stabilize organic materials (such as synthetic polymers) which are subject to oxidative degradation.
