Abstract: An improved dual-filter lens for protective eyewear that combines a first filter for blocking essentially 100% of UV light, and second filter for filtering blue light. The first filter may comprise a multi-layered dielectric mirror layer 14 or Rugate filter 50, and the second filter may comprise dye-impregnated lens layer(s) 16, 18 or Rugate filter 50. The first filter blocks essentially 100% of UV light, while the second filter establishes an increasing transmission profile that cuts on sharply at approximately 415 nm, and establishes an increasing transmission profile between approximately 415 nm to about 475 nm. The cut-on slope rises approximately 0.15% in transmissivity for every nanometer of increasing wavelength change, with a maximum filtering effect within the 440-465 nm range. These dual filters provide a balanced light transmission profile that reduces harmful tight transmission and prevents macular degeneration, cataracts and other ocular injuries, while still preserving visual acuity.

Abstract: Silicone tube structures are formed having a particular dimensional accuracy. In one embodiment, a silicone tube structure can include an extruded hollow body having an inner bore. The extruded hollow body can have an inner diameter, an outer diameter, and a length of at least approximately 20 m. The extruded hollow body can also have a dimensional accuracy that is measured by the standard deviation of the inner diameter being no greater than approximately 0.8% of an average inner diameter of the extruded hollow body over the length. In an embodiment, the silicone tube structure can be cut to form a number of silicone tubes.

Abstract: The present invention provides curable compositions comprising non-tin metal catalysts that accelerate the condensation curing of moisture-curable silicones/non-silicones. In particular, the present invention provides bismuth(III) sulfonate complexes that are particularly suitable as replacements for organotin in sealant and RTV formulations. In one embodiment, the present invention provides bismuth (III) camphorsulfonate and bismuth(III) methanesulfonate complexes. Further, these bismuth(III) sulfonate complexes are comparable or superior to organotin such as DBTDL, exhibit certain behavior in the presence of components that allow for tuning or adjusting the cure characteristics of the present compositions, and provide good adhesion and storage stability.
Abstract: The invention describes a flexible tubular article for transport of volatile hydrocarbons comprising: (a) an inner layer of a polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) polymer or a polyvinylidene difluoride copolymer; (b) an intermediate thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) layer extruded in tubular form over the inner PVDF layer, and (c) a polyvinyl chloride polymer extruded in tubular form over the outside surface of the intermediate layer and being coextensive therewith. The tubular articles of the invention have a maximum permeation rating of 15 g/m2/day under SAE J1737 test conditions.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for incorporating lighting fixtures (e.g., Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting fixtures) within other non-lighting components, or their mounting structures, already mounted to a watercraft. A mounting bracket that may be used to mount the non-lighting component to the watercraft may be modified to include a mounting bracket for the LED lighting device. The light fixture may be incorporated into the non-lighting component mount without utilizing any extra surface area on the watercraft itself.
