Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for digitally controlling an oxygen sensor. The apparatus comprises a computer and digital circuitry coupled to the oxygen sensor to convey information between the oxygen sensor and the computer. The oxygen sensor includes a pump cell and at least one Nernst cell configured to indicate the difference in oxygen content in a test medium relative to a reference medium. A pump control circuit operates the pump cell according to signals received from the computer based on output signals from the Nernst cell. A reference voltage circuit enables the computer to determine impedances of the oxygen sensor as a function of sensor temperature and pressure. A Nernst read circuit transmits output signals from the oxygen sensor digitally to the computer. Digital signals received by the computer are compared with stored reference information so as to determine the oxygen content of the test medium.
Abstract: A gooseneck hitch attachable to a cross member secured to a frame below a load bed of a vehicle, the cross member having a width is shown and described. The gooseneck hitch may include a beam selectively attachable to the cross member below the load bed and a rail monolithically formed with the beam and extending from the beam. The gooseneck hitch may also include a receptacle monolithically formed with the rail, where the receptacle is capable of selectively securing a hitch ball.

Abstract: The present invention provides curable compositions that are free of metal catalysts including both tin and non-tin metal catalysts. The curable compositions employ a catalyst comprising curable polymers having reactive terminal silyl groups. In particular, a silylated carboxylic acid is an alternative to organotin or other metal catalysts. In addition, the catalyst may be used with an amino-containing adhesion promoter or a mixture of amine-containing adhesion promoters and an amino-containing siloxane. The combination of these materials accelerates the condensation curing of moisture curable silicones/non-silicones even in the absence of a metal-based catalyst.
Abstract: A retainer for connecting a pair of sanitary fittings each having a first end and a second end, the second ends each having a flanged portion, includes a first member having a through center aperture, the first member adapted to receive at least a portion of each of the flanged portions and a second member having a through center aperture and engageable over the first member, the second member adapted to provide a compressive force to sealingly connect the flanged portions when the first and second members are in an assembled configuration.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for measuring the weight of a passivation coating composition on a moving substrate with minimal interruption. The method of present invention is especially useful for effective quality control in an industrial setting.
Abstract: A filter baffle assembly, including a filter cap engageable to the mouth of a container, the filter cap including a filter vent situated the filter cap, and a gas permable baffle interposable between the mouth of the container and the filter vent, the baffle protecting the filter vent from contact with the contents of the container. A gas permeable baffle for protecting a filter vent from contents of a container, the baffle including at least one perforation, the baffle being interposable between a container mouth and a filter vent housed within a container cap. A method of protecting a filter vent from the contents of a container, including the steps of sealingly engaging a gas permeable baffle to the mouth of a container; engaging a filter cap, including a filter vent, to the mouth of the container; permitting gas exchange between the container interior and the filter vent, through the baffle; and, with the baffle, protecting, the filter vent from contact with container contents.
Abstract: A filter baffle assembly including a filter cap engageable to a mouth of a container, the filter cap including a filter vent situated within an inner space of the filter cap, and a liner disposed between the filter vent and a gas permeable baffle engaged to a mouth of the container, the baffle including at least one perforation to permit gas exchange between an interior of the container and the filter vent, and to protect the filter vent from contact with contents housed in an interior of the container. A welded baffle liner assembly for protecting a filter vent from contact with the contents of a container, including a gas permeable baffle having at least one perforation welded to a liner, the welded baffle liner assembly being interposable between a mouth of the container and a filter vent housed within a cap engageable to the mouth of the container. A method for protecting a filter vent from the contents of a container.
Abstract: A system for elastically compensating for wear, thermal expansion and misalignment comprises a ring located between a housing and a pin in the bore of the housing. The ring has a backing layer, an expanded grid structure having a plurality of openings, a low friction layer penetrated into the openings of the expanded grid structure, and adhesive for bonding the backing layer, expanded grid structure and low friction layer together to provide elastic deformation of the ring between the housing and pin.
Abstract: A method of making a polybenzimidazole (PBI) includes the steps of: reacting, in a solution, an organic compound having at least 2 amino groups with an organic aldehyde adduct, the reactants comprise at least 8% by weight of the solution. A solvent of the solution may be selected from the group of: N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), tetramethylene sulfone, and combinations thereof. The organic aldehyde adduct may be an organic aldehyde bisulfite adduct. The organic aldehyde portion of the organic aldehyde adduct being aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic, heterocyclic, or heteroaromatic aldehyde or mixtures thereof. The polybenzimidazole may have an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.40 dl/g.
