  • Publication number: 20160001918
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a container for holding an object with separate components, each similar in construction. In some embodiments, the components of the container may be substantially identical with one another. A first component of the container may include a coupling region that is identical and complementary to the coupling region of a second component of the container. Coupling the components with one another (e.g., press fit) forms an enclosure for the object. In some embodiments, fastening members of a coupling region of a container component may extend along a distance smaller than a mating perimeter, defined by identical and complementary coupling regions, that extends along a transverse plane defining two halves of the container enclosure.

  • Patent number: 9228683
Abstract: An improved flanged tube assembly with insert-reinforced tube flanges to prevent tube flange deformation and leakage when subjected to high compressive forces as well as sustained high-temperature procedures. The flange inserts are configured to form the flange portion of a flanged tube, or configured to provide structural support to the portions of the flange integral to the associated tube. The inserts may be metallic or polymer based and formed with various structural features to create a mechanical lock between the insert and the material used to make the tube/flange assembly. The inserts can be incorporated into the tube flanges so as to provide the desired support without being exposed to any fluids and/or gases that may flow through the reinforced tube/flange assemblies.

  • Patent number: 9206853
Abstract: A tolerance ring has a band (16) with outwardly extending corrugated protrusions forming waves (2) which engage a surface (8) of the bore (4) in a housing (5). At one end of the tolerance ring is an outwardly flared guide surface (15a) extending axially from the band (16). The guide surface (15a) acts as an enlarged entrance to the band (16) from a shaft (3) to be mounted in the bore (4) by insertion into the tolerance ring. The use of the guide surface (15a) assists assembly and reduces or eliminates particle production. It is also possible for the corrugated portions to extend inwardly, for the guide surface to be inwardly flared, and for the tolerance ring to be mounted on the shaft prior to insertion in the bore.
