Abstract: The present disclosure relates to improved magnetic mixing assemblies and mixing system. The magnetic mixing assemblies can provide improved mixing action, ease of use, and low friction. The mixing assemblies can be adapted for use with a wide variety of containers including narrower neck containers and flexible containers.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods for preparing a hydrophilic composition including intimately mixing a silicone component including at least one polysiloxane and a polymer component, and to hydrophobic polymer compositions prepared thereby. One aspect of the disclosure provides an article having a major exterior surface, the article comprising an intimate mixture of a silicone component including at least one polysiloxane; and a polymer component including at least one hydrophilic polymer having a water-absorption capacity of at least 50 wt. %; wherein the silicone component and the polymer component are present in the mixture in a dry weight ratio within the range of 99.9:0.1 to 30:70. In certain desirable embodiments as otherwise described herein, the intimate mixture is disposed at an exterior surface of the article, e.g., at the major exterior surface of the article.
Abstract: A surface-protective coating forming composition exhibiting excellent shelf life (storage stability) and cured coating performance is derived from trialkoxysilane and metal oxide powder.
Abstract: A thermal barrier material for use in shielding components of a vehicle from hot exhaust surfaces includes 35 to 53% of a plurality of clays by weight and a remainder including magnesium silicate, alumina trihydrate, alumino-borosilicate glass, rock wool, basalt fiber, acrylamide copolymer coagulant, acrylic latex, fatty alcohol alkoxylate, or anionic polyacrylamide. A sample of the thermal barrier material, when exposed to a temperature of 400° Celsius, produces smoke having a density less than 5 g/cm3 as measured according to the ISO 5659-2:2006(E) standard.
Abstract: A steer/brake system for a vehicle (with wheels and/or tracks) is disclosed. The system may comprise a steering system with an operator control and braking system for each side of the vehicle with a master cylinder for the brake mechanism and an interface between the braking system and the operator control. Operation may provide a phase where the interface is at least partially engaged and force may be applied through the interface to the master cylinder to engage the brake mechanism to provide modulation for the operator control. A steering emulation system may comprise the interface and a compliant element configured to provide modulation for the operator control. The system may comprise a shared hydraulic system; the brake mechanism may comprise the steering brake mechanism and the service brake mechanism.
Abstract: A composite tube includes a first layer including a cross-linked polyolefin elastomer, wherein the first layer is configured for fluid contact; and a second layer adjacent to the first layer, the second layer including an elastomer.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for an exhaust demand control system for measuring one or more contaminants at one or more exhaust locations within one or a plurality of exhaust ducts or plenums served by an exhaust fan system. Example systems and methods can include sensing the one or more contaminants within the one or more exhaust duct locations using a multipoint air sampling system having one or more sensors and flow control elements, comparing contaminant concentration measurements from the one or more of said exhaust duct or plenum locations against an action level to create a fan setback signal, and ensuring sensor accuracy and reliability by implementing a sensor protective mode when the contaminant concentration measurements from the one or more exhaust locations exceeds an action level.
Abstract: A trigger mechanism for a firearm comprises a connector adapted to be pivotally connected to a firearm receiver, a trigger pivotally connected to the connector, and a trigger bar pivotally connected to the connector. The trigger and trigger bar are configured such that the trigger engages the trigger bar to block the connector from pivoting until the trigger is depressed rearwardly. The connector is permitted to pivot once the trigger is fully depressed rearwardly such that the trigger is not engaged with the trigger bar, whereupon pivotal motion of the connector drives the trigger bar rearwardly to release a striker of the firearm to fire the firearm.
Abstract: A pulsation dampener includes a body having an internal cavity and an opening providing fluid communication between the internal cavity and a fluid flow external to the body. A flexible diaphragm fitted with the diaphragm radial compression ring is held within the internal cavity, allowing for improved seal ability and enhanced service life of the diaphragm at allowing at least some fluid from the external fluid flow to enter the internal cavity through the opening based on a pressure of the external fluid flow, the flexible diaphragm or elements in contact with the fluid from the external fluid flow that has entered the internal cavity.
