Abstract: A hydraulically driven underwater pumping system may include a pumping module connected to a subsea base. The subsea base may be connected to: a subsea producing well via a production line that carries the fluid produced by the subsea producing well; and a production unit via a riser and a service line. The hydraulically driven underwater pumping system may receive working fluid from the production unit via the service line. Additionally, a pump, located in the pumping module, may be driven hydraulically by the working fluid and pump the fluid produced by the subsea producing well to the production unit. The hydraulically driven underwater pumping system may mix the working fluid, after being used to drive the pump, with the fluid produced by the subsea producing well that is pumped to the production unit.

Abstract: A system configured to sense a leak in a stuffing box includes a sensing device that has a support supporting an elongated structure that is configured to pivot relative to the support. A container is fixed to a first end of the elongated structure and is suitable for receiving liquid from a leak. The sensing device includes at least one position sensor for detecting a position of the elongated structure. The system is configured such that when empty, the container remains in a raised position, and a second end of the elongated structure, opposite the first end to which the container is fixed, remains in a lowered position. When the system is filled with leaked liquid, the container moves to a lowered position compared to its empty raised position, and the second end of the elongated structure moves to a relatively raised position compared to its empty lowered position.

Abstract: The present invention describes a method for refining highly polyaromatic and nitrogenated charges, such as LCO streams, comprising hydrotreating (HDT) as the first reaction stage, followed by the intermediate separation of gases generated in the HDT section, then by a second reaction stage consisting in moderate hydroconversion/hydrocracking and in a rectifying and/or fractionating section, thus allowing more flexible production of fuels. In the rectification mode, the claimed method yields a diesel oil fraction with higher cetane content, reduced density and volumetric yield increase of at least 111% relative to the process charge, thus minimising yield losses through naphtha overcracking and contributing to the optimisation of the required hydrogen consumption. In the fractionating mode, different cuts and their compositions can be produced, such as naphtha, kerosene and diesel.

Abstract: The present invention relates to catalysts of iron and chromium with a platinum promoter for use in water-gas shift reactions, both at low temperatures (LTS) and at high temperatures (HTS). Their characteristics of higher activity due to the addition of Pt compared to the conventional catalysts make them superior to the commercial catalysts in the same operating conditions. Because precursors of the active phase (Fe3O4) are obtained in greater quantity per unit area, it was possible to prepare catalysts that are more promising with a smaller surface area.
