  • Publication number: 20070270669
Abstract: A patient monitoring/defibrillation instrument displays patient vital signs in numeric form or as graphical waveform traces. Under normal room lighting conditions the numeric and waveform information is displayed in color against a black or gray background. When the patient monitor is operated outside or in bright light, the user has the option to select a color map for display of the patient vital signs information in a highly contrasting manner such as black numeric or waveform information against a bright background such as yellow. The high contrast display, while being objectionable in most indoor settings, has been found to comfortably and effectively display the monitored information in sunlight without the need to increase power to the display.

  • Patent number: 7269113
Abstract: A device for recording and/or reading a record carrier has an optical head with a laser for generating a beam via a scanning spot on a track of the carrier. A detector detects a read signal and a sensor detects a sense signal from the beam. A control unit controls the laser power to a desired value. A correction unit generates a correction signal that depends on local optical properties of the record carrier derived from the sense signal measured on at least one part of the track near the scanning spot. The device corrects the power control using the correction signal. Furthermore, the record carrier can have prerecorded control parameters for setting the correction unit.

  • Publication number: 20070133693
Abstract: This invention provides an improved method for storing/replaying a specific program from a MPEG-2 multiple program transport stream. When storing, the method discards a related transport packet of the non-user-selected program and inserts a null packet at the corresponding discarding position, and the effective load of this null packet contains a number which indicates the number of continuously discarded packets at this position; when replaying, if the effective load of a null packet contains a specific numerical value, the method adds some null packets beside this null packet, the number of the added null packets being equal to that the specific numerical value minus one.

  • Publication number: 20070069727
Abstract: The invention relates to a parallel magnetic resonance imaging method, in which core magnetization is excited in the examination volume of an MR device by generating at least one HF pulse. Two or more MR signals are then recorded in parallel from the examination volume via two or more receiving channels (R, S) of the MR device using an HF coil arrangement (9), which comprises a number of coil elements (15, 16) which is greater than the number of receiving channels (R, S), wherein the respective MR signal on each receiving channel (R, S) is formed by weighted superimposition of coil signals (A, B, C, D, E) of the individual coil elements (15, 16). Finally, according to the invention, an MR image is reconstructed from the recorded MR signals, the MR signals being combined with one another taking into account effective spatial sensitivity profiles associated with the individual receiving channels (R, S).

  • Publication number: 20060263961
Abstract: A method for manufacturing CMOS devices with fully silicided (FUSI) gates is described. A metallic gate electrode of an NMOS transistor and a metallic gate electrode of a pMOS transistor have a different work function. The work function of each transistor type is determined by selecting a thickness of a corresponding semiconductor gate electrode and a thermal budget of a first thermal step such that, during silicidation, different silicide phases are obtained on the nMOS and the pMOS transistors. The work function of each type of transistor can be adjusted by selectively doping the semiconductor material prior to the formation of the silicide.

  • Patent number: 7124340
Abstract: In a method for testing a testable electronic device having a first and a second plurality of test a arrangements a first shift register (110) is used in parallel with a second shift register (130) to time-multiplex a first test vector (102) and a second test vector (104) into a number of smaller test vectors (102a–c; 104a–c) for provision to the first and second plurality of test arrangements. By varying the size of the first shift register (110) and the second shift register (130) a trade-off between the number of pins of the electronic device to be contacted and the required test time can be made. The first shift register (110) may be coupled to a first buffer register (120) and second shift register (130) may be coupled to a second buffer register (140) for enhanced test data stability. First shift register (110) and second shift register (130) can be partitions of a larger shift register.

  • Patent number: 7119353
Abstract: The electric device (100) has a body (102) having a resistor (107) comprising a phase change material being changeable between a first phase and a second phase. The resistor (107) has a first electrical resistance when the phase change material is in the first phase, and a second electrical resistance, different from the first electrical resistance, when the phase change material is in the second phase. The phase change material constitutes a conductive path between a first contact area and a second contact area. A cross-section of the conductive path is smaller than the first contact area and the second contact area. The body (102) may further have a heating element 106 being able to conduct a current for enabling a transition from the first phase to the second phase. The heating element (106) is preferably arranged in parallel with the resistor (107).
