  • Patent number: 6233214
Abstract: An information data recording/reproducing method correctly reproduces information data from a recording disc on which high density recording is performed through implementation of an increased linear density and a narrower track pitch. Each of recording data recorded at each of (m×n) recording points existing on n adjacent recording track (n is a natural number equal to or larger than two) including a target recording point and existing on m adjacent disc radial lines (m is a natural number equal to or larger than two) including the target recording point is subtracted from information data to derive a subtraction result. A residual operation is performed on the subtraction result to derive a residue value which is recorded at the target recording point. Recorded information is simultaneously read from (m×n) recording points existing on n adjacent recording tracks and existing on m adjacent disc radial lines to produce a read signal.

  • Patent number: 6219636
Abstract: A pitch coding method is provided for calculating and coding the pitch of each sub frame of a speech input that is divided into a plurality of frames which are separated into a plurality of sub frames. The method calculates the pitch of each of the sub frames included in one or more of the frames, and determines whether or not the speech input is a voiced sound accompanying the vibration of a vocal chord. If it is determined that a head sub frame of a first speech input is the voiced sound, the pitch of the head sub frame is coded. Otherwise, if a subsequent sub frame is determined to be the voiced sound, a standard pitch value is selected and coded for the head sub frame. The method also determines whether a frame preceding the subsequent sub frame is judged to be the voiced sound, and if so the difference between the pitch of the preceding frame and the pitch of the subsequent frames is calculated and coded.

  • Patent number: 6215742
Abstract: A clock signal generating system of the present invention is provided for recording information on a disc. The disc has a plurality of recording tracks wobbled by a wobble signal having a predetermined frequency and a plurality of prepits disposed at positions having a predetermined phase relation with respect to a phase of the wobble signal. A clock signal is generated based on the wobble signal. A prepit signal is produced from the prepit. The phase of the wobble signal is compared with a phase of the prepit signal, thereby generating a phase adjusting signal. The phase of the clock signal is adjusted based on the phase adjusting signal. A recording clock signal for recording the information is produced by an adjusted clock signal.
