Abstract: Docking platforms formed in one of the largest-surface-area surfaces of mobile electronic devices. Such a docking platform may comprise a docking accessory cavity having a docking connection system comprising one or more docking connectors formed within the cavity, and optionally two or more electrical contacts within the cavity, the contacts electrically connected to electronics within the electronic device and constructed and arranged to allow electrical connection to detachable docking accessories. The docking connection system is operable to form detachable attachments to multiple independent docking accessories simultaneously. The cavities of the docking platforms are shaped to accommodate a broad range of docking accessories that are specially adapted to sit in a generally flush manner with the back surface of the mobile electronic device while attached to the docking connectors. One type of accessory forms an assembly with an expandable accordion attached to the docking platform.

Abstract: A case includes a case body configured to equip a mobile electronic device. The case includes an actuator, and the mobile electronic device includes a physical button. The case further includes an actuator switch coupled to the case body and movable between at least a first unengaged position and a second engaged position, where the switch is connected to an engagement member. The engagement member activates a corresponding physical button of the mobile electronic device when the mobile electronic device is equipped with the case and the actuator switch is moved to the second position. The engagement member is configured to not activate the mobile electronic device button when the actuator is moved to the first position.

Abstract: Induction charging devices and methods are disclosed for a portable electronic device that has a reception coil coupled to a power source and an outwardly projecting attachment mounted thereon. In some versions, the devices include a housing having a wall with an outwardly facing charging surface and a recess sized to receive the attachment with the portable electronic device disposed on the charging surface. In some versions, devices can include an attachment device coupled to a rear of a housing that can releasably secure to a portion of a vehicle and a mount coupled to a front of the housing configured to receive a portion of the attachment therein to secure the portable electronic device to the housing. A charging assembly within the housing can include a transmission coil disposed so that with the recess or mount receiving the attachment therein, the transmission and reception coils are sufficiently aligned to charge the power source of the portable electronic device.

Abstract: A quick-release package includes a box enclosure and an insert. The insert slides into the open bottom of the box enclosure, and includes a locking extension which slides into a slot on the top of the box enclosure and locks the insert into place. The slot forms a wide portion toward the back surface of the box enclosure and a narrower button release portion toward the front surface of the box enclosure. The insert locking extension includes a button configured to catch on the back surface of the wider portion of the top slot in a first position and which, when pressed, moves into the button release portion of the slot and releases the locking extension and hence the insert from the box enclosure.
