Abstract: An expandable socket for attachment to a portable media player or a portable media player case. The expandable socket generally includes a platform, a button spaced from the platform, and a collapsible mechanism coupled to the platform and the button. The platform is adapted to engage a portion of the portable media player or the portable media player case. The collapsible mechanism includes a plurality of discrete sections movable relative to one another to move the expandable socket between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration.

The expandable socket generally includes a platform, a skin coupled to the platform, a button coupled to the skin opposite the platform, and a biasing element. The skin includes an outer wall, an inner wall spaced radially inward of the outer wall, and a cavity defined by the inner wall, wherein the skin is deformable between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The biasing element is arranged within the cavity of the skin between the platform and the button, such that the biasing element is at least partially surrounded by the inner wall of the skin. The biasing element is configured to bias the skin into the expanded configuration.

Abstract: A quick-release package includes a box enclosure and an insert. The insert slides into the open bottom of the box enclosure, and includes a locking extension which slides into a slot on the top of the box enclosure and locks the insert into place. The slot forms a wide portion toward the back surface of the box enclosure and a narrower button release portion toward the front surface of the box enclosure. The insert locking extension includes a button configured to catch on the back surface of the wider portion of the top slot in a first position and which, when pressed, moves into the button release portion of the slot and releases the locking extension and hence the insert from the box enclosure.
