  • Patent number: 12342383
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support random-access occasion (RO) selection for reduced-capability (RedCap) user equipment (UEs). A RedCap UE operating in a half-duplex mode may use the techniques described herein to efficiently select an RO in which to transmit a random-access preamble based on a duration between a latest received downlink transmission and the RO satisfying a threshold duration. The UE may receive system information mapping a set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) to a set of ROs. The UE may then select an RO from the set of ROs in which to transmit the random-access preamble such that the UE has sufficient time to transition from a receive mode to a transmit mode to transmit the random-access preamble.

  • Patent number: 12342386
Abstract: Technologies and techniques for wireless communication between a scheduled entity and a scheduling entity in a wireless communication network. A scheduled entity receives a downlink (DL) reference signal (RS) from the scheduling entity on a channel between the scheduling entity and the scheduled entity. The scheduled entity obtains channel state information (CSI) for the channel between the scheduling entity and the scheduled entity using the received DL RS, selects an uplink resource associated with a random-access procedure, and multiplexes a CSI report including the CSI with a random-access message related to the random-access procedure to produce multiplexed information.

For example, the UE may transmit the BFR message to the second UE when the calculated duration is greater than or equal to the threshold duration. Alternatively, the UE may transmit the BFR message to the network entity when the calculated duration is less than the threshold duration.

  • Patent number: 12335815
Abstract: During a positioning session between a user equipment (UE) and a location server, the location server may send the base station a request to suspend the Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection with the UE. For example, the location server may send a request to the base station recommending suspension of the connection or may provide an indication of the amount of time during which position related messages between the UE and the location server are not expected. The base station may determine whether to suspend the connection with the UE, thereby placing the UE in an inactive state based on the information provided. The base station may further determine whether to suspend the connection based on data activity of the UE. While in an inactive state, the UE and base station store UE connection context, which may be used to quickly resume the connection.
