Abstract: A muffler exhaust tip has a first end provided with clamping members and a second end having a decorative exterior finish. The construction of the muffler tip allows the manufacturer to provide multiple decorative exterior finishes on the muffler tip body. Two adjustable clamping members facilitate attachment of the muffler tip to an exhaust pipe of a motor vehicle. The clamping members attach to the tailpipe of a muffler with a high retention force and can accommodate tailpipes of different diameters for a "universal" fit. A sound amplifying member is set inside the muffler tip, comprising a dual plate member which increases the sound decibel output from the tailpipe and also provides an attractive end cover for the muffler tip.
Abstract: A saddle structure for a jack device is provided with a rotatable saddle mounted to the fixed saddle of an extension member of a jack device. The rotatable saddle is retained, at least partially, within the fixed saddle for structural reinforcement. The Rotatable saddle provides an interface between the extension member of the jack device and the object to be lifted. The rotatable saddle is freely rotatable about a central axis of the extension member to allow the jack device to be independently oriented with respect to the object to be lifted. The fixed saddle structurally supports the rotatable saddle and is rigidly fixed to the extension member. Such an arrangement provides an adjustable interface between the jack device and the object to be lifted while maintaining the structural integrity of the interface.
Abstract: The invention is an improved jack having a safety device for preventing the jack from collapsing under a heavy load. The improved jack includes a linkage movable from a lowered position to an elevated position for engaging and elevating a load, an actuating mechanism connected to the linkage for moving the linkage toward the elevated position upon actuation of the actuating means, and the safety device blocking mechanism for blocking movement of the linkage from the elevated position to the lowered position. The linkage is supported and disposed for pivotal movement between two side plates. The blocking mechanism provides an abutment across the two side plates to limit the movement of linkage. The blocking mechanism features a block fixed to the linkage. The block has horizontal bores passing therethrough. A lock rod is inserted through the horizontal bores to provide an abutment across the two side plates when the linkage is elevated, thereby preventing the linkage from unintentionally lowering.
