    Abstract: In a compact tool for automatic MAG spot welding, all of the elements are located close to the welding zone and a single set of props both support the articles to be welded and provide a negative electrical current contact. A welding head is slidably supported upon a base which is connected to a robot arm by quick release couplings. The base further supports a welding wire reel and brake while the head supports the torch and a welding wire drive device. Props on either side of the welding zone press the article to be welded and provide negative electrical current contact.

    Abstract: A balancing device consists of at least one balancer, for example a pneumatic jack, one end of which is connected to the deck lid by a swivel joint and whose other end is hinged to the vehicle body. The balancer is hinged to the vehicle body through a bent return lever consisting of two unequal arms and is attached at its bend to the vehicle body about an axis parallel to the hinge axis of the hatchback. The end of the arm oriented toward the axis forms a hinge for the said other end of the balancer while the end of the other arm of the bent lever is in contact with the concave cam surface of a cam attached to the deck lid.

The device consists of at least two rocker arms mounted on a common shaft and each engageable with a cam having a different configuration. A connecting element is slidably mounted on the shaft between two of the rocker arms and is engageable with an intake valve of an engine. The connecting element and rocker arms have lateral notches which are matable with one another so that the connecting element rotates with one or the other of the rocker arms. A control device is provided for moving the connecting element along the axis of the shaft so that it can engage with one or the other of the rocker arms.

    Abstract: Process for automatically measuring the shearing resistance of green sand used in a repetitive sand molding process using pattern plates, and for using the measurements in such a way as to modulate the various parameters of the process in which a measuring ring is placed upon one of the pattern plates. The measuring ring has an opening and stress gauges fastened within narrowed sections of said measuring ring on either side of said opening. The gauges are connected electrically through the pattern plate to an electronic measurement and operation device within which various physical measurements are computed, including the shearing resistance of the test sample of sand compressed within said opening. The result of said measurements is processed by a computer to determine the magnitude of modulations to be made, particularly that pertaining to the replenishment of agglomerating agents for the recycled sand.

A manually operated cam includes a stop which is movable between an active position and a retracted position where it allows, during cold operation, the diaphragm and the linkage to pivot the choke valve between its minimum and maximum opening positions, according to the load on the engine.

    Abstract: This hydrodynamic torque converter for the automatic transmission of motor vehicles which provide several gear ratios comprises means for bridging the input and output shafts of the converter. The hydraulic fluid supplied through the hollow transmission shaft penetrates into the converter inner space via a gaged orifice; the outlet of the control chamber of the converter is closed by a solenoid valve in one position thereof; the pressure in the converter inner space is the same as in the control chamber, and spring means are provided for urging the control piston to its release position when the assembly operates as a torque converter. In the other valve position the pressure prevailing in the converter inner space having its outlet closed is applied to the control piston against the force of the spring means. The pressure in the control chamber is low and thus the friction lining carried by the control piston produces the desired bridging action.

The injector includes a disk interposed between the core and the ball, the disk surface facing the ball being coated with a thin layer of nonmagnetic material, a seat with a circular working surface, a funnel-shaped nozzle for automatic fluid-flow regulation, and an injection tip provided with spiral inclines to create a cone-shaped spray at the outlet of the injection nozzle. Application is to fuel injection in the internal combustion engines of automotive vehicles.
