    Abstract: The present invention relates to expression vectors and methods for enhancing soluble expression and secretion of a heterologous protein, particularly a bulky folded active heterologous protein which has one or more transmembrane-like domains or intramolecular disulfide bonds by linking a leader peptide with acidic or basic pI and high hydrophilicity thereto; by substituting one or more amino acids within N-terminal of the heterologous protein with ones having acidic or neutral pI and high hydrophilicity; or reducing elevating GRNA value of a polynucleotide encoding the leader peptide having basic pI value and high hydrophilicity. The expression vector and the method may be used to produce of heterologous protein and to transduce of therapeutic proteins in a patient by preventing formation of insoluble inclusion body and by enhancing secretional efficiency of the heterologous protein into the periplasm or outside cell.

    Abstract: Provided are a method of producing a waxy rice cake that is not hardened for shelf-life, including: (a) immersing waxy rice in water and removing the water therefrom; (b) first steaming the waxy rice from which water is removed; (c) adding salt and water to the first steamed waxy rice, followed by second steaming; and (d) cooling the second steamed waxy rice and adding flour thereto, followed by punching, a waxy rice cake produced by using the method, and a processed food produced by processing the waxy rice cake. The waxy rice cake has longer storage duration than a conventional waxy rice cake and due to the long storage duration, the waxy rice cake can be distributed for shelf-life according to storage conditions. Also, the waxy rice cake retains its chewy texture and thus is suitable for consumers' tastes.

    Abstract: A method of producing a rice cake that becomes not hardened for a long time period, a rice cake produced by using the method, and a processed food produced by processing the rice cake are provided. The method includes: (a) immersing grains in water and removing the water therefrom; (b) grinding the grains from which water is removed, adding water thereto, and then grinding the grains to which water is added; (c) steaming the ground grains; and (d) cooling the steamed grains, adding flour thereto, and then punching the resultant product. The rice cake has a long storage time and is suitable for a long-term distribution. The rice cake preserves its soft texture for a long time period and is thus appropriate for consumers' acceptability.

To manage the quality of milk, a monochromator using an interference filter having different wavelength bands is employed to the apparatus for analyzing milk, and the amount of milk samples used at one time is increased, so components of milk are simultaneously examined. The apparatus for analyzing milk has a portable structure, so the components of milk are simply, rapidly and easily determined in the field, and the apparatus for analyzing milk is inexpensive as compared with existing apparatuses, thereby increasing the productivity.

The method features feeding newborn calves with a sufficient amount of milk corresponding to 15-25% of body weight for 3-5 weeks following birth, and then with a stepwise decreased amount of milk corresponding finally to 8-15% of body weight for 3-7 days, with the differential amount replaced with water and then with gradually decreased amounts of milk from 8-15% to zero % of the body weight and with solid feedstuffs for a period from 5 weeks to 6-8 weeks after birth, thereby inducing the calves to maximally take solid feedstuff with minimal weaning stress.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to fusion polynucleotides for biosynthesis of beta-carotene and a method for producing beta-carotene using the same. More particularly, it relates to fusion polynucleotides encoding phytoene synthase, connective sequences of FMDV-derived 2A sequence or internal ribosome entry site (IRES) and carotene desaturase, and a method for producing beta-carotenes using the same. Fusion polynucleotides and the recombinant vector using the same of the present invention have the effect of expression both phytoene synthase gene and carotene desaturase gene stably within cell transformants. Accordingly, fusion polynucleotides of the present invention can be used to regulate the biosynthetic metabolism of plant producing beta-carotene. Furthermore, it can be applied to effectively increase the content of beta-carotene, a useful metabolite.

The artificial eardrum is fabricated in the form of a silk membrane by desalinating and drying silk protein (or silk fibroin) or a silk protein complex solution obtained after removal of sericin from a silkworm cocoon or silk fiber.     Abstract: Mobile telecommunication service system and method using a public frequency are provided. The method includes receiving a call connection request for a certain recipient from a mobile communication terminal; and connecting a radio interval between the mobile communication terminal and a Base station Transceiver Subsystem (BTS) of a call connection interval of the mobile communication terminal and the certain recipient, using a public frequency band. Accordingly, it is possible to stably connect the call to the public institution in case of the emergency or the public operation. By raising the utilization of the limited frequency resources, the insufficient frequency in the private mobile telecommunication can be addressed. The public institutions provide the public frequency to the private telecommunication companies and use the mobile communication service for free or at a low cost in return.
