Abstract: A self-diagnosis method for a facsimile device and a facsimile device to perform the same. The facsimile device has a modem and a line interface unit (LIU) that connects the modem to an external line. The method includes determining whether a communication path is in a normal state or in an abnormal state according to the detection of a dial tone transmitted from an outside, and/or determining whether the modem is in a normal state or in an abnormal state according to whether a diagnosing tone signal generated in the facsimile device is normally received. Accordingly, the self-diagnosis method self-diagnoses errors in the peripheral environment of the facsimile device without communicating with another facsimile device. These errors may be errors on external lines, or errors in the facsimile device, e.g., errors in a modem.

Abstract: A control apparatus and a method of controlling a variety of functions of a display device, including on screen display (OSD) application programs, according to a control value input through an input unit attached to a computer. The functions including communication using OSD hardware and software between the display device and the computer are designed to be controlled by the input unit of the computer connected to the display device through a USB port such that separate buttons on the display device are not needed, and a structure of the display device is simplified. Also, since an OSD module of the display device is used without change and without complicated OSD application programs, and the display device can be controlled by an external apparatus connected to the display device, a development period of the display device can be shortened.

Abstract: A mask frame assembly includes a frame having an opening and a mask having at least two unit mask elements. Both ends of each unit mask element are fixed to the frame in a state of tension. The unit mask elements include a unit masking pattern, and overlap each other on a predetermined width to form a single mask pattern block. Each unit mask element has a recessed wall in an overlapping portion thereof so as to maintain the thickness of the mask constant at an overlap between the unit mask elements. Accordingly, the mask frame assembly reduces distortion in an evaporation pattern due to an increase in the size of a mask pattern, facilitates the adjustment of a total pitch of evaporation patterns, and prevents evaporation from occurring at undesired positions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a matrix-type device for the transdermal delivery of testosterone comprising (i) a matrix layer containing a) a therapeutically effective amount of testosterone or the salt thereof, b) an adhesive polymer, and c) a penetration enhancer comprising N-methylpyrrolidone and oleoylsarcosine, and, (ii) a backing layer of polyurethane. The device of the present invention is applicable to a non-scrotal skin as compared with a known matrix-type device for the transdermal delivery and has an excellent skin-adhesion and has less tendencies of crystallizing testosterone.

Abstract: A laser diode that uses air as a reflective layer, thereby enhancing refractive index difference with respect to an oscillating laser beam, and a method for fabricating such a laser diode are provided. The laser diode includes a substrate, a laser oscillating layer formed on the substrate, an upper electrode formed on the laser oscillating layer, and a reflective layer formed at one side of the laser oscillating layer, wherein the reflective layer comprises air layers. According to the laser diode and the method for fabricating the same, it is possible to form a reflective layer having a higher reflectivity with a reduced number of pairs of reflective layers, thereby making a laser diode whose threshold voltage is reduced and which can produce a high-output laser beam.

Abstract: A composition forms an overcoat layer for an organic photoreceptor by combining an organic silane compound, an acrylic polymer, polyvinyl butyral and a solvent. The organic photoreceptor has increased electrical and mechanical properties, leading to improved life characteristics. Also, unlike when a single material of either acrylic polymer or silsesquioxane is used in forming an overcoat layer, when the composition of the present invention is used, it is not necessary to coat a primer or an adhesive layer, thereby simplifying a coating process and reducing the cost required in forming additive layers.

If the specification version of the authoring tool is higher than a viewer version supported by the reproducing apparatus, interactive contents may not be correctly reproduced due to specification version information automatically written in the markup document using the authoring tool. Since the information storage medium includes the minimum interactive contents version information and/or the minimum multimedia version information that can be reproduced by the reproducing apparatus, the reproducing apparatus can reproduce the interactive contents smoothly.

Isopropyl alcohol and deionized water are premixed in a desired ratio before a cleaning solution containing isopropyl alcohol and deionized water is supplied into a treating bath. Accordingly, a chemical compound remaining due to deionized water can be effectively removed and the creation of water marks due to isopropyl alcohol can be effectively prevented. As a result, cleaning and drying effects can be increased and a cleaning solution can be reused.
