Abstract: A method and apparatus for image compression using a latent variable are provided. The multiple components of the latent variable may be sorted in order of importance. Through sorting, when the feature information of only some of the multiple components is used, the quality of a reconstructed image may be improved. In order to generate a latent variable, the components of which are sorted in order of importance, learning may be performed in various manners. Also, less important information may be eliminated from the latent variable, and processing, such as quantization, may be applied to the latent variable. Through elimination and processing, the amount of data for the latent variable may be reduced.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for recognizing facial expressions based on adversarial elimination. First, a facial expression recognition network is built based on a deep convolutional neural network. On a natural facial expression data set, the facial expression recognition network is trained through a loss function to make facial expression features easier to distinguish. Then some key features of input images are actively eliminated by using an improved confrontation elimination method to generate a new data set to train new networks with different weight distributions and feature extraction capabilities, forcing the network to perform expression classification discrimination based on more features, which reduces the influence of interference factors such as occlusion on the network recognition accuracy rate, and improving the robustness of the facial expression recognition network.

The method is applicable to monitoring the presence of allergen-specific pathogenic CD4+ T cells and/or efficacy of immunotherapy for allergies in a subject.

Abstract: A method for decoding an image according to the present invention comprises the steps of: decoding a residual block by quantizing and inverse transforming an entropy-decoded residual block; generating a prediction block via motion compensation; and decoding an image by adding the decoded residual block to the prediction block, wherein on the basis of the maximum number of motion vector candidates of the motion vector candidate list related to the prediction block, a motion vector candidate list is adjusted by adding a particular motion vector candidate or by discarding a portion from among the motion vector candidates, and in the prediction block generation step, a prediction motion vector of the prediction block is determined on the basis of the adjusted motion vector candidate list. Accordingly, the complexity of arithmetic operations is reduced during encoding/decoding of an image.
