Abstract: A pedestal for a substrate processing system includes a pedestal body including a substrate-facing surface. An annular band is arranged on the substrate-facing surface that is configured to support a radially outer edge of the substrate. A cavity is defined in the substrate-facing surface of the pedestal body and is located radially inside of the annular band. The cavity creates a volume between a bottom surface of the substrate and the substrate-facing surface of the pedestal body. A plurality of vents pass though the pedestal body and are in fluid communication with the cavity to equalize pressure on opposing faces of the substrate during processing.

Abstract: A process of preparing carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) intermediate products is described wherein the carbon fibers are prepared from a carbon fiber precursor and then in-line impregnated with a polymeric resin as part of a continuous process. The process can provide cost savings compared to processes wherein carbon fibers are prepared and then impregnated with polymeric resins in a separate process, thereby making the use of CFRP materials more economically feasible. Also described is a system for preparing carbon fiber from a carbon fiber precursor and impregnating the carbon fiber with polymeric resin to provide CFRP intermediate products, such as continuous tapes or rods or discontinuous flakes or pellets.

Abstract: An inwardly biased tubing hanger is provided that allows for continued turns in the same direction to both lock the tubing hanger in place within the well as well as release the running tool from the tubing hanger. An energizing sleeve and running tool each having left hand threads is provided where a torque ring between the energizing sleeve and running tool allows the running tool to be turn in the right hand direction until sufficient torque is provided to the torque sleeve to release the running tool from the energizing sleeve. With the running tool attached to the energizing sleeve the energizing sleeve provides sufficient force, provided the torque limit of the torque sleeve is not been reached, to drive the inwardly biased torque ring radially outward.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a use of leucine-zipper protein for diagnosis or treatment of fatty liver. According to the present invention, it could be confirmed that a particular fragment present at the leucine-zipper protein, especially, the N-terminal region thereof, plays an important role in the lipid metabolism in liver tissue by regulating transcriptional activity of Apolipoprotein A4, and therefore, the protein of the present invention or a fragment thereof can be utilized as a target for diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of fatty liver.

Abstract: Modern broilers are selected for fast growth and a large proportion of breast tissue, contributing to a top-heavy phenotype, leg disorders, and inactivity as birds reach market weight. Therefore, the objective was to motivate broilers to move through environmental enrichment. Twelve hundred Ross 308 broilers were housed in pens of 30 for 6 wk; 600 birds were exposed to a novel laser enrichment device (LASER) and 600 were control. Each device projected 2 randomly moving red laser dots onto the floor 4 times/day for 4-min “laser periods”. Seven LASER and 7 control pens, with 5 focal birds/pen (n=70), were randomly selected to be video-recorded d0-8 and once weekly for the remainder of the trial. Videos were analyzed to measure broiler time-budget and behaviors such latency to feed and distance walked during laser periods. Focal birds were gait scored weekly on-farm. A test of the Human-Approach Paradigm was carried out on wk 1 and 6 on all pens.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are microfluidic systems with recirculation of fluid and computer-implemented methods of calculating conditions within the microfluidic systems. The microfluidic systems include a computing device and a microfluidic device having first and second reservoirs, at least one chamber, and a fluid path connecting the first reservoir, the chamber, and the second reservoir. The methods for calculating conditions include receiving a first reservoir fluid volume, a second reservoir fluid volume, a first concentration, and a second concentration. The methods further include receiving a time-dependent imposed pressure difference between the first reservoir and the second reservoir, then determining a hydraulic pressure difference and an effective pressure difference. The effective pressure difference is used to account for reactions occurring within the microfluidic device and to determine the value of the condition within the microfluidic device.

Abstract: A system for detection of an anomaly in a discrete manufacturing process (DMP) with human-robot teams executing a task. Receive signals including robot, worker and DMP signals. Predict a sequence of events (SOEs) from DMP signals. Determine whether the predicted SOEs in the DMP signals is inconsistent with a behavior of operation of the DMP described in a DMP model, and if the predicted SOEs from DMP signals is inconsistent with the behavior, then an alarm is to be signaled. Input worker data into a Human Performance (HP) model, to obtain a state of the worker based on previously learned boundaries of human state. The state of the HW is then input into the HRI model and the DMP model to determine a classification of anomaly or no anomaly. Update a Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) model to obtain a control action of a robot or a type of an anomaly alarm.
