  • Patent number: 11322351
Abstract: Tin oxide film on a semiconductor substrate is etched selectively in a presence of silicon (Si), carbon (C), or a carbon-containing material (e.g., photoresist) by exposing the substrate to a process gas comprising hydrogen (H2) and a hydrocarbon. The hydrocarbon significantly improves the etch selectivity. In some embodiments an apparatus for processing a semiconductor substrate includes a process chamber configured for housing the semiconductor substrate and a controller having program instructions on a non-transitory medium for causing selective etching of a tin oxide layer on a substrate in a presence of silicon, carbon, or a carbon-containing material by exposing the substrate to a plasma formed in a process gas that includes H2 and a hydrocarbon.

  • Patent number: 11318452
Abstract: Hydrocarbon composition plays vital role in fuel quality. For gasoline/motor spirit applications the hydrocarbon should have more octane-possessing molecules from the groups of aromatics, naphthenics and isoparaffins, while n-paraffins are not preferred due to their poor octane. Among the high-octane groups, again aromatics occupy the top but not more than 35 vol % aromatics can be mixed in gasoline for engine applications to avoid harmful emission, But there is no single process that addresses so far the issue of co-producing all the desired hydrocarbon components in a single process. Thus, it is interesting to have a single once-through process working on single catalyst system to produce mixture of all three high-octane molecules namely, aromatics, naphthenics and isoparaffins directly from low-value, low-octane n-paraffin feed. Herein, we report a novel single-step catalytic process for the simultaneous production of aromatics, naphthenics and isoparaffins for gasoline and petrochemical applications.

  • Patent number: 11319266
Abstract: A method is provided for using twisted acenes, and more particularly to configurationally stable twisted acenes that are imbedded into the structure of [7]helicene at the fulcrum ring to form useable material structures. The helicene propagates its chiral nature into the acene, while acting as a locking mechanism to thermal racemization. These doubly-helical compounds are part of a new homologous series of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, namely the [7]helitwistacenes. Such [7]helitwistacenes have utility as materials suitable for forming a circularly polarized organic light emitting diode (CP-OLED) for direct emission of circularly polarized (CP) light for the fabrication of high efficiency electronic displays.

  • Patent number: 11317956
Abstract: A bone screw may be insertable into a bone, and may have a proximal member, a distal member with bone-engaging threads, wherein the distal member is configured to slidably engage the proximal member such that a variable-length cavity is defined within the proximal member and the distal member, and a tension member residing at least partially within the variable-length cavity. The tension member may have a proximal end coupled to the proximal member and a distal end coupled to the distal member such that, in response to motion of the distal member away from the proximal member, the tension member elongates and urges the distal member to move toward the proximal member. The proximal member and the distal member may be interconnected to share bending loads at a bending transmission feature.

  • Patent number: 11323963
Abstract: A long-range wireless network extends the battery life of the most remote end devices by forming pairs with a relayer end device that relays data from the remote end device to a gateway. The battery life of the relayer is reduced to extend the battery life of the remote end device. An analysis server selects pairs of end devices that have a difference in battery levels above a threshold, and require less transmission energy from the remote end device to the relayer than to the gateway. Energy or path losses are estimated based on geographic locations of end devices and terrain or obstacles. Redundant pairs from a remote end device are eliminated by selecting the relayer requiring the lowest transmission energy. A new configuration is sent to the remote end device. New configurations with higher Spreading Factors (SF) compensate for pairs with larger path losses to the relayer.
