  • Patent number: 10666298
Abstract: A bit interleaver, a bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) device and a bit interleaving method are disclosed herein. The bit interleaver includes a first memory, a processor, and a second memory. The first memory stores a low-density parity check (LDPC) codeword having a length of 64800 and a code rate of 3/15. The processor generates an interleaved codeword by interleaving the LDPC codeword on a bit group basis. The size of the bit group corresponds to a parallel factor of the LDPC codeword. The second memory provides the interleaved codeword to a modulator for quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation.

  • Patent number: 10661100
Abstract: Systems and methods for radiation treatment planning in proton therapy using pencil beam scanning (“PBS”) are described. More particularly, the systems and methods described in the present disclosure related to quantifying the output from a proton therapy system implementing PBS. The systems and methods described in the present disclosure can therefore be implemented when commissioning a new proton therapy system, or when performing quality assurance (“QA”) on a proton therapy system. A spot delivery pattern that includes a spiral out pattern is used for beam delivery. A number of control points along the spot delivery pattern define a beam pause time during which delivery of the proton beam is paused. Radiation measurements are obtained at the control points and at the end of the spot delivery pattern, and these radiation measurements are used to compute field size factors for field sized associated with the segments of the spot delivery pattern.

  • Patent number: 10665427
Abstract: A high frequency radio frequency (RF) generator that generates a high frequency RF signal is described. There is no need for another low frequency RF generator that generates a low frequency RF signal. A low frequency RF signal is pre-amplified within the high frequency RF generator to output a pre-amplified low frequency RF signal. Similarly, a high frequency RF signal is pre-amplified within the high frequency RF generator to output a pre-amplified high frequency RF signal. The high frequency RF generator combines the pre-amplified low frequency RF with the pre-amplified high frequency RF signal to provide a combined RF signal. The combined RF signal is amplified within the high frequency RF generator to supply an amplified signal to a match. There is also no need for another match for the low frequency RF generator.

  • Patent number: 10662384
Abstract: The present invention is generally related to the analysis of chemical compositions of hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon blends. This method applies specifically to the problem of analyzing extremely complex hydrocarbon-containing mixtures when the number and diversity of molecules makes it impossible to realistically identify and quantify them individually in a reasonable timeframe and cost. The advantage to this method over prior art is the ability to separate and identify chemical constituents and solvent fractions based on their solvent-solubility characteristics, their high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) adsorption and desorption behaviors, and their interactions with stationary phases; and subsequently identify and quantify them at least partially using various combinations of non-destructive HPLC, destructive HPLC, and stand-alone detectors presently not routinely used for HPLC but reconfigured to obtain spectra on the fly.

  • Patent number: 10660558
Abstract: Systems and methods facilitating objective evaluations of subjects to facilitate detecting clinically relevant changes in balance are provided. The system includes a portable balance board with a sensor in each of four feet for detecting downward force. Each sensor is communicatively coupled to a circuit board with a wired or wireless communication capability. A subject stands on the balance board and each sensor sends a signal to the circuit board, which communicates the four signals to a companion device that uses the signals to calculate the center of pressure (“COP”) of the subject over time. The subject can perform the BESS test and the resulting COP data is used to calculate a field path length for the subject. The field path length is compared to a previously determined baseline path length for the subject to detect any clinically relevant change in balance of the subject.
