Abstract: This invention provides, among other things, methods for the identification and isolation of viable putative long-lived antigen-specific memory CD8+ T cell subsets (CMhi and EMhi) with high surface expression of CD161 and/or IL-18R? and the capacity to rapidly efflux the fluorescent dye Rh123.
Abstract: The present technique discloses a buck-boost converter. According to a detailed example of the present invention, a number of switching elements of a buck-boost converter is reduced compared with a conventional buck-boost converter, and thereby a buck mode and a boost mode are performed with reduced overall conduction loss and switching loss. In addition, a buck-boost converter that is capable of stepping up and down an input voltage over a wide range using a single control device, that has a simple structure, that has inexpensive manufacturing costs, and that has a high circuit integration density can be realized by configuring the buck-boost converter to connect a two-phase interleaving boost converter unit to a single-phase buck converter unit.

Abstract: A device for cooling and dehumidifying a first stream of air includes a first heat exchanger that cools the first stream of air from a first temperature to a lower second temperature, an absorber, a regenerator and one or more pumps and conduits. The device operates under conditions where liquid desiccant removes moisture from the first stream of air in the absorber and the second temperature of the first stream of air that leaves the first heat exchanger is lower than the temperature of the liquid desiccant supplied to the absorber.
Abstract: A packet of data and a packet-identification value are transmitted to a network device having an identifier. The stored packet-identification value and the identifier are recorded. The stored packet-identification value is then increased and the process repeats. To receive data, an expected identification value is stored in association with the identifier. A packet and a packet-identification value are received from the network device. The identifier and an indication of receipt are stored. If the received value does not match the expected value for the identifier, the received value is stored. If the values match, the stored packet-identification value and identifier are recorded. If the received value exceeds the expected value, the stored packet-identification value, the identifier and the received identifier are recorded. Subsequently, the stored expected value is increased. The process repeats. Network devices and systems are described.

Abstract: The geometrically nonlinear isolation system of the present invention includes a bearing platform, an isolator and a damper. The isolator is connected with the bearing platform and used for providing resilience against horizontal relative displacement between the bearing platform and the isolator. The damper is pin-jointed to the bearing platform and has an axis orthogonal or oblique to the horizontal direction. Accordingly, when the bearing platform and the isolator move with respect to each other along the horizontal direction, the angle between the axis of the damper and the horizontal direction would change with the horizontal displacement, and the damper provides damping force along a direction parallel to the axis of the damper so as to enhance horizontal vibration isolation effect.

Abstract: A semiconductor system includes a chamber, a pedestal disposed in the chamber, and a focus ring that surrounds the pedestal. The pedestal has a center region for supporting a central region of a substrate, e.g., a wafer. The focus ring is configured to surround the center region of the pedestal. The focus ring has an annular support region that extends between an inner portion of the focus ring and an outer portion of the focus ring. The annular support region, which is disposed at an angle relative to a horizontal line, provides a knife-edge contact for the substrate when present over the center region of the pedestal and the annular support region of the focus ring. The knife-edge contact between the edge of the substrate and the annular support region of the focus ring disables chemical access to the substrate backside and thereby reduces unwanted backside deposition.
