Abstract: Provided are improved exhaust gas cleaning systems and methods for treating exhaust gas from a combustion source that include a hydrogen generation system, a regenerable sulfur oxides trap, and a regenerable nitrogen storage reduction (NSR) catalyst trap. The improved exhaust gas cleaning systems and methods allow for the sulfur released from the sulfur trap to pass through the nitrogen oxide trap with no or little poisoning of NOx storage and reduction sites, which significantly improves NSR catalyst trap lifetime and performance to meet future emissions standards. The disclosed exhaust gas cleaning systems are suitable for use in internal combustion engines (e.g., diesel, gasoline, CNG) which operate with lean air/fuel ratios over most of the operating period.

Abstract: A random number generation method and apparatus using a low-power microprocessor is provided. In the random number generation method, a low-power microprocessor determines whether external power is supplied to a random number generator. The low-power microprocessor updates an internal state of the random number generator based on a first scheme if it is determined that the external power is supplied to the random number generator. The low-power microprocessor updates the internal state of the random number generator based on a second scheme different from the first scheme if it is determined that the external power is not supplied to the random number generator.

Abstract: The method for preparation of polyisoprene includes conducting polymerization reaction of isoprene in a first organic solvent under the presence of rare earth catalyst I and rare earth catalyst II, to obtain polyisoprene with bimodal molecular weight distribution, wherein the polymerization reaction conditions are controlled to ensure the peak molecular weight of the high molecular weight component fraction in the polyisoprene is 1×106-2×106 and the peak molecular weight of the low molecular weight component fraction is 2×105-4×105, and the weight ratio of content of the high molecular weight component fraction to the low molecular weight component fraction is 1-25:1. The molecular weight distribution of the polyisoprene obtained with the method provided is bimodal distribution; therefore, the polyisoprene not only has the mechanical properties of polyisoprene with high molecular weight, but also has the processability of polyisoprene with low molecular weight.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of selectively separating milk fat globule membrane fragments and milk fat globules from whey. The method includes the steps of adding to whey an amount of a whey-soluble zinc salt and adjusting the pH of the whey to be less than 6.0. The amount of zinc salt added to the whey is sufficient to cause milk fat globule membrane fragments and milk fat globules contained in the whey to precipitate selectively from the whey.
