Abstract: Provided is an oxide sintered body suitably used for the production of an oxide semiconductor film for a display device, wherein the oxide sintered body has both high conductivity and relative density, and is capable of depositing an oxide semiconductor film having high carrier mobility. This oxide sintered body is obtained by mixing and sintering powders of zinc oxide, tin oxide and indium oxide, and when an EPMA in-plane compositional mapping is performed on the oxide sintered body the percentage of the area in which Sn concentration is 10 to 50 mass % in the measurement area is 70 area percent or more.
Abstract: The present invention provides an integrated process for the recovery of sulphate of potash (SOP), ammonium sulphate and surface modified magnesium hydroxide and/or magnesium oxide utilizing kainite mixed salt and ammonia as the only consumable raw materials. The process involves treating kainite mixed salt with water to obtain solid schoenite and a schoenite end liquor. The latter is desulphated using CaCl2 generated in the process itself and thereafter evaporated to obtain carnallite crystals from which KCl is recovered while the liquor rich in MgCl2 serves as a source of MgCL. The gypsum produced during desulphatation is reacted with aqueous ammonia and CO2 to produce ammonium sulphate and calcium carbonate. The calcium carbonate so obtained is then calcined to obtained CaO and CO2. The CaO is then slaked in decarbonated water and reacted with the MgCl2-rich liquor generated above to produce slurry of Mg(OH)2 in aqueous CaCl2.

Abstract: Disclosed in this specification is a method for aligning nanostructures. A substrate is coated with a liquid solution comprising particles. Before the solution is cured, circularly-polarized light is applied to the substrate to induce a magnetic field in the particles. A low strength magnetic field is then applied. The induced magnetic field of the particles aligns with the applied magnetic field. The solution is permitted to cure while simultaneously exposed to both the circularly-polarized light and the applied magnetic field. The resulting composite retains the particle alignment.

Abstract: A new and distinct plum variety is described. The variety results from selection among a population of seedlings derived from collecting seed from open pollinated fruit. Seedlings generated from the open pollination were planted out at Lawn Road, Havelock North, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. In 2003, ‘LRP40/205’ was identified as having potential as a new variety and was propagated for further trials. ‘LRP40/205’ was selected for its desirable tree and fruit characteristics, and timing of the harvest.

In one embodiment, the method comprises: (i) obtaining at least one parameter indicative of a quality of a signal; (ii) if the at least one parameter indicates that the quality of the signal is above a threshold, then transmitting the data as a number of digital words at a first predetermined word length; (ii) if the at least one parameter indicates that the quality of the signal is below the threshold, then transmitting the data as a number of digital words at a second predetermined word length. The second predetermined word length is different from the first predetermined word length.

Abstract: The invention provides a new process for patterning TPE membranes for use in the design and fabrication of 3D microfluidic devices. The process involves patterning a TPE material without permitting the highest features of the mold to come into contact with the counter-plate, whereby adhesion between the TPE and the mold or counter-plate during demolding results directly in removal of the excess layer from the TPE membrane to produce well formed micrometric-sized open-through holes in the TPE membrane. The process permits rapid, reliable and efficient patterning of densely packed and arbitrarily placed micrometric open-through holes and channels of high aspect-ratio and any shape or wall profile in thin TPE membranes.
