Abstract: A system and method are provided for creating an image including quantified flow within vessels of a subject. The method includes providing a single-sweep, three-dimensional (3D) image volume acquired from a subject during a single pass of a computed tomography (CT) imaging system as the subject receives a dose of a contrast agent and determining a phase shift corresponding to pulsatile contrast in vessels within the single-sweep, 3D image volume. The method further includes quantifying a flow through the vessels within the single-sweep, 3D image volume using the phase shift and generating a report including indicating flow through the vessels within the 3D image volume.

Abstract: A transcranial scanning device and method of use is disclosed. The transcranial scanning device is for identifying a neurologic-injury-mechanism and comprises a sensing wand comprising a transducer that produces and receives sound waves. The sensing wand is passed over a head of a patent with cerebral malaria, and sound waves reflect off of blood cells in blood vessels in the head of the patient creating an output sound wave responsive to a blood flow of the patient. The output sound wave is received by the transducer. An output screen coupled to the sensing wand, displays in real time an output waveform corresponding to the output sound wave, wherein the output waveform is indicative of one or more symptoms of cerebral malaria, and wherein said symptoms identify one or more neurologic-injury-mechanism occurring within the patient.

Abstract: Embodiments provide for predicting rowhammer attack vulnerability of one or more memory cells of a direct random access memory (DRAM) chip, the DRAM chip including a plurality of memory cells. An example method, determines, for each memory cell of a subset of memory cells of the plurality of memory cells, a leakage time t, a resistance of intrinsic leakage RL based at least in part on the leakage time t, an activation time of an adjacent aggressor row to flip a bit in the memory cell, a resistance of coupling leaking RSW based at least in part on the activation time, and a toggling count. The method identifies, based at least in part on one or more of the RSW, RL, or toggling count, whether the direct random memory access (DRAM) chip is vulnerable to a rowhammer attack.

Abstract: Provided are embodiments of para-substituted 1,1-dialkyl-4-phenylpiperazin-1-ium iodides advantageous for modulating inflammation that have been synthesized and their electrophysiology activities for ?9, ?9?10, and ?7 nAChRs compared. The para position contained alkyl or aryl amides, or heterocyclic isosteres for the amide, and the alkyl groups were varied at the ammonium piperazine nitrogen to see if compensatory changes in size at this position of the molecule impacted function. The compounds were characterized with two-electrode voltage-clamp measurements on Xenopus oocytes expressing nAChRs. General, the compounds were more potent for ?9-containing receptors than for ?7, and the majority were either full or strong partial agonists for ?9-containing nAChR.

Abstract: A method and system for managing health care patient record data including identifying and conveying recordation and temporal inconsistencies in health care patient data pertaining to chronic illnesses. An embodiment of the present invention includes identifying a first health care encounter date on which a chronic illness is recorded in a patient's digital health care data and determining if the chronic illness was recorded in the patient's digital health care data for each subsequent health care encounter. Some embodiments also identify the stage of the chronic illness at each encounter to determine if and how the condition of the chronic illness has changed. Some embodiments generate alerts to inform users when a preexisting chronic illness is not subsequently identified and/or if the subsequent diagnosis of the chronic illness indicates that the condition of the chronic illness has changed by some predetermined amount.

Abstract: A controller of a machine determines jointly a sequence of control inputs defining a state trajectory of the machine and a desired knowledge of the environment by solving a multivariable constrained optimization of a model of dynamics of the machine relating the state trajectory with the sequence of control inputs subject to a constraint on admissible values of the states and the control inputs defined based on the desired knowledge of the surrounding environment represented by the state of the environment and the uncertainty of the state of the environment determined from the measurements of the environment. In such a manner, the controller performs joint but imbalance optimization of the control inputs and the sensing instructions to the sensor for learning the environment.

Abstract: The present disclosure belongs to the technical field of African swine fever (ASF) treatment, in particular to use of a compound aprepitant in prevention or treatment of the ASF. In the present disclosure, it is found that the compound aprepitant can significantly inhibit replication of an African swine fever virus (ASFV); in addition, it is found that the aprepitant inhibits transcription and protein expression of D1133L, and reduces transcription and protein expression levels of p30 and p72, preventing virus invasion on host cells. Therefore, the compound aprepitant can be used to inhibit early and late infection of the ASFV. Accordingly, the compound aprepitant can be used to prevent or treat the ASF.

Abstract: A system jointly estimates states of GNSS receivers moving in a region using measurements of a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). The system clusters the GNSS receivers into different clusters subject to a constraint on an upper bound on each cluster and executes a set of probabilistic filters corresponding to the set of clusters to estimate the states of GNSS receivers in each cluster. Each probabilistic filter estimates the states of the GNSS receivers in a corresponding cluster by fusing the GNSS data collected from the GNSS receivers in the cluster to jointly reduce an estimation error of each of the GNSS receivers in the cluster. The DES updates the cluster assignments based on a measure of estimation error in the states of different GNSS receivers in different clusters.
