  • Patent number: 11823446
Abstract: Digital imagery can help to quantify seasonal changes in desirable crop phenotypes that can be treated as quantitative traits. Because limitations in precise and functional phenotyping restrain genetic improvement in the post-genomic era, imagery-based phenomics could become the next breakthrough to accelerate genetic gains in field crops. Whereas many phenomic studies focus on exploratory analysis of spectral data without obvious interpretative value, we used field images to directly measure soybean canopy development from phenological stage V2 to R5. Over three years, we collected imagery using ground and aerial platforms of a large and diverse nested association panel comprising 5,555 lines. Genome-wide association analysis of canopy coverage across sampling dates detected a large quantitative trait locus on soybean (Glycine max, L. Merr.) chromosome 19. This QTL provided an increase in yield of 47.3 kg·ha?1.

  • Patent number: 11822294
Abstract: A timepiece movement includes a magnetic escapement formed of a magnetic escape wheel with an annular magnetized structure and a pallet fork whose shaft is formed by a ferromagnetic material. The pallet shaft exerts on the escape wheel a magnetic disturbance torque due to the fact that the annular magnetized structure exhibits an angular variation of at least one defining physical parameter thereof, such that the magnetic attraction varies as a function of the angular position of the escape wheel and has a tangential component. A magnetic compensation pin is incorporated in the timepiece movement, this magnetic compensation pin being arranged such that the second magnetic disturbance torque that it exerts on the escape wheel exhibits an angular phase shift relative to the first magnetic disturbance torque generated by the pallet shaft, so as to compensate largely for this first magnetic disturbance torque.

  • Patent number: 11822704
Abstract: A first arithmetic input share and a second arithmetic input share of an initial arithmetically-masked cryptographic value are received. A sequence of operations using the arithmetic input shares and a randomly generated number is performed, where a current operation in the sequence of operations generates a corresponding intermediate value that is used in a subsequent operation. At the end of the sequence of operations, a first Boolean output share and a second Boolean output share are generated. The arithmetic-to-Boolean mask conversion is independent of the input bit length.
