Abstract: An optical scanning apparatus is provided. An objective lens receives a reflectance spectrum from a sample. A spectral detector detects a first path of the reflectance spectrum and outputs a spectral response. An imaging detector detects a second path of the reflectance spectrum and outputs an image response. A beam splitter is located between the objective lens and each of the spectral detector and imaging detector and splits the reflectance spectrum into the first path and the second path.

Abstract: A full extension ball bearing drawer slide assembly comprised of a cabinet rail attached to a cabinet piece, an intermediate rail slidingly engaged with the cabinet rail via bearing runners, a drawer rail slidingly engaged with the intermediate rail via a bearing cage, and a cage hold forward device for advantageously positioning the bearing cage for ease of re-insertion of the drawer rail within the intermediated rail. The cage hold forward device is attached to the intermediate rail and comprises a protrusion for engagement with a flexible trigger mounted on the drawer rail and a flexible clip for releasable engagement with the bearing cage.

Abstract: A method of treating or remediating contaminated material, such as water or soil, comprises contacting such material with asphaltenes. The asphaltenes are preferably produced as a by-product of petroleum refining and, in particular, a by-product of vacuum residua. An adsorbent material comprising such asphaltenes is also provided.

Abstract: A frac plug includes a body having an outer surface, a first pocket in the outer surface, and a second pocket in the outer surface. In addition, the frac plug includes a first sensor removably disposed in the first pocket. The first sensor is configured to measure and record a plurality of pressures. The frac plug also includes a second sensor removably disposed in the second pocket. The second sensor is configured to measure and record a plurality of pressures. Further, the frac plug includes a first cap releasably coupled to the body and closing the first pocket. Moreover, the frac plug includes a second cap releasably coupled to the body and closing the second pocket. The first cap includes a port and the second cap includes a port.

Abstract: A kitchen pullout for storage of knives, cutting boards, and miscellaneous utensils and appliances is provided. A magnetic bar, having a specialized magnetic array is provided for storage of metallic knives. A specialized rubber casting, having a plurality of serpentine slots for holding ceramic knives is provided. Conveniently placed canisters and slots are provided for closed storage of kitchen utensils. A bottom shelf is provided with various heights for storage of appliances. An adjustable base frame, and an adjustable top rail is provided to secure and accommodate position the mechanism in the cabinet carcass.

Abstract: A powered vanity system with a power outlet positioned on the bottom of a drawer box adjacent a face plate with a pressure switch the prevents the flow of electricity to the power outlet when the drawer box is in a closed position and allows the flow of electricity to the power outlet when the drawer box is in an open position. A cable manager controls the power cord as the drawer box moves between open and closed positions. The drawer box is easily removable from the cabinet carcass and provides for a novel convenience lighting system.

Abstract: A method and system for vacuum vapor deposition of a deposition material to form functional materials, including a coating, a thin film material, or a thick film material, upon a substrate in space utilizes: a substrate support structure associated with a space platform; a depositor for the deposition material; and a moveable elongate arm associated with a space platform that provides relative movement between the substrate and the depositor.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method to separate solid particle components from a fluid that includes a spherical vessel with a tangential inlet to introduce the fluid and a fluid exhaust and filter arranged on the center line of the interior of the vessel. A combination of pressurized fluid and solid particles enter at the tangential inlet and move primarily in a circular path around the interior of the vessel. The circular path results in the larger mass particles settling at the vessels lower region. Less massive particles may be entrained in the exiting fluid flow toward a filter element where they are removed from the exiting fluid. The vessel has an opening to remove the trapped separated particles.

Abstract: A transcoding engine communicatively coupled to a broadcast source receiver for receiving the broadcast stream, decoding the broadcast stream, extracting and storing the PSIP tables from the broadcast stream and inserting metadata into the decoded broadcast stream, encoding the broadcast stream and the metadata, and attaching the PSIP tables to the encoded broadcast stream. A listener server device is communicatively coupled to the transcoding engine for receiving the encoded broadcast stream and establishing a low-latency tunnel with a caller client over a public internet and providing the encoded broadcast stream to the caller client through the low-latency tunnel.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software described herein provide enhancements for managing and comparing data from multiple information sources. In one implementation, a method of operating a comparison service includes obtaining, from a plurality of data sources, data objects in a plurality of formats corresponding to an event, wherein the data objects each comprise data items for the event. The method further includes maintaining a data structure for the event, wherein the data structure relates data items of similar data type from the plurality of data sources. The method also provides identifying a user request for a summary of the event, generating an event summary based on the data structure, and providing the event summary to the requesting user.

Using the pyrite-containing material in a downstream leach step in which pyrite in the pyrite-containing material generates acid and heat that facilitates leaching a metal, such as copper or nickel or zinc or cobalt, from a metal-containing material.

Abstract: A basket pullout system for a blind corner cabinet with an orientation bracket and stabilizer for installation of a blind corner pullout with adjustable shelves. The orientation bracket allows for easy installation of a base assembly irrelevant of which side the door opens or whether the cabinet has a face frame. The vertical stanchion assembly also allows for easy adjustment of slide positions to transition between a cabinet with the door on the right to the door on the left, and vice versa.

Abstract: A method of recovering a metal, such as copper or nickel or zinc or cobalt, from a metal-containing material, such as a metal-containing material that has been categorized by a mine operator as being “non-economic” from the perspective of recovering the metal from the material. Mixing (i) the metal-containing material and (ii) pyrite and forming agglomerates. Leaching agglomerates with a leach liquor, with pyrite generating acid and heat that facilitate recovering the metal from the metal-containing material, and forming a pregnant leach liquor containing metal. Abstract: A tooling inspection and analysis system measures tooling quality of a multi-tip tablet punch having a barrel with a plurality of tips each having a tip cup for forming a tablet. The system comprises a base. A carriage assembly has a cavity for supporting a multi-tip tablet punch, which when in use is aligned with an X-axis. A Y-axis linear slide mounts the carriage assembly to the base for movement relative to the base along a Y-axis. A sensor is adapted to measure distance. A Z-axis linear slide mounts the sensor to the base for movement relative to the base along a Z-axis. A programmable controller is operatively connected to the Y-axis linear slide, the Z-axis linear slide and the sensor. The controller is programmed to move the carriage assembly and the sensor to automatically align the sensor to measure working length of each tip of a multi-tip tablet punch mounted in the cavity.
